Speeding

Just been clocked for speeding by plod.

The in car video showed a recored speed of 91. Although we were still accelerating (It was an unmnarked Volvo I was quite a way in front on a clear road)

Don't suppose anyone has any suggestions ? Should I accept the £60 and 3 points ?

I need to know

Did yu get a notice of intended prosecution?
What didthey use to measure the speed. I am guessing it was VASCAR.
How many cops were there?
Where was it?
What did they say when you were stopped.

Don't worry about the time limt for reply.
As long as you write with a query or request they won't penalise you.

You could for instance ask for a copy of the video.
You would be entitled to see this. They might charge you for the privilege.
If you decided not to argue you could always pay the fine after seeing it.

Then get it captured and put a link on the board so we can all see it.

One point to remember, if you decide to fight in court and you lose, it will be quite a bit more costly.

I'm dead interested in this.

I know Pete has done his homework on this subject and would very much like to see what legal redress you can have in such a situation.

91 on an empty 70mph stretch is pants as far as I'm concerned.

You should have done it outside a school in a nice juicy 30 - they'd never nick you.....

Maybe this could be grounds for an argument...

The police have announced that any foreigner caught doing 100mph on a MWay will be let off with a caution. Apparently this is because actually getting the fine from them blah blah blah is nigh on immpossible.

Now we all know that the European Court of Human Rights is really hot on equality in Europe.

How about we all club together to buy a house in spain.

Then we register our cars in spain but use them over here.

We rent the house out and make money whilst driving at 100mph and getting let off cause we are foreigners?

Checking various sites seems that I was caught fair and square, so £60 and 3 points. I can only say that I've been lucky up to now as the ol' 200 is often on the wrong side of 100.
