I know this isn't the ideal place to ask,but does anyony know of any sites where i can obtain info on the Mazda 323 4x4 turbo (d-reg shape),only my friend bought one the other day.He reckons it will give my 2***** a run for its money!!!!,so i questioned him on where he would get his tuning parts from......All i got was a blank expression. Can someone give me any info?bearing in mind it is only a 1600cc.

They are fairly quick off the blocks with the 4WD and small body wieght. They have 150hp and handle nicely (they were rallied alot at some point...), but i can imagine that after 2nd gear is gone, the 200 would nail its ass to the wall...

Dont know anything about tuning them though.

They're not as light as you might think!

A mate had one, and it was lively enough, but it won't beat a 200 past about 30mph.

Tuning wise, I've seen chips for them from several big companies (Superchips, Starchips etc.). Exhausts are available, but I can't remember whose. I built him a 3" system for about £120. Never again.
Being a turbo, a lot of the same stuff as the 200 is valid in terms of boost, IC's etc.

Rust is a problem, as are dealer parts prices.

Personally, I couldn't live with the interior......

All they need is a couple of prismatic "Names of Allah" stickers and some nice mirrored cushions in the back.

I HAVE OWNED 2 IN THE PAST....NOT AS GOOD AS THE INTEGRALE, BUT THEY ARE TUNEABLE. AS EVER FIRST THING IS THE ZORST, I WENT TO A CUSTOM SHOP FOR A STRAIGHT THRO' 3.5" but you must disconnect the overboost plug near the brake servo on the bulkhead otherwise an alarm goes off. that will add 25bhp to the stock 148. ic is relatively good as it is fm and quite thick. i went to microdynamics for a rising rate fuel regulator and a bleed valve, on the rolling road it gave 198bhp at the wheels (235at the fly)...thing flew, got a 2nd wind at 5500rpm as the zorst did its thing. no induction kits in those days though. it would stay with a 3 door cossie back in 1988...went off the clock (only marked to 130mph) only prob is wheels, u can't get much under those piddly arches.mind you still good for 0/60 in 6 secs (even in the wet)....back of motoring news is good for specialists on these cars.

If your gonna get a Mazda, buy a RX7, rotary engine? only 3 moving parts? as opposed to piston engine at least 40 moving parts! I'd chop my 200sx for one any day!
