Gary Fisher Marlin

Pretty much as Mr Fisher intended right now.

I ride pretty much in the yorkshire area.

I would really like a Kona Scab for doing some nutty dirt jumps. But I am getting old and the jumps are looking bigger http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

I just stick to full whack downhilling http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Cannodale 700sx (not original fame and the forks are about the only thing that have survived my abuse. Hope DH4 205mm disc's are the way forward or not as the case may be, stunning brakes) and Cannondale Red Shred, as you can see i like the 'dales, i haven't broken them (frames that is, rims lasted exactly 1 hour 13 mins)yet (and the shred is about 11 years old).

Ride mostly around South Downs and the Purbecks, but going to the alps next year (60mph here we come!). Ride around Bath a fair bit too (one of the best single tracks i have ever ridden, but it's a bit illegal). Quantocks a couple of times and will be going into S. Wales next year too.

The bikes fit in the back of the 2***** easily, have to take at least the back wheel off, both if there are two bikes. I was the main buying critreia for the car really. It am still in two minds about whether to get the S14, as i don't know where the bike will go.

Man, i am so poor compared to you guys... http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

For Street i have:

A completely nailed and bombed out GT Tequesta from 96, still going strong now, the frame has only just started to bend after 5 years of hard street riding.

For D/H i have:

A completey nailed anf bombed out Marin Rift Zone with Full Sus... That doesnt work anymore. Opps. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, and i have, in my once awesome past, (2 years ago) done a wheelie for almost a mile non stop. There is a sign at the end of my road that says "Packmoor: 1mile". I did it from the sign to Packmoor http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Does anybody do Bike Trials? I have had a breif stint with it, before going back to Street, but some of my mates love it...

Check it out here: http://www.naturaltrials.com/

I ride (when not stuck in M/cr) around the Peak District (Chatsworth / Bakewell area) and when I can get there, in the Lakes.

What? I used to have an Orange P7, but that's now being ridden by some manc scally. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/mad.gif Whose f-ckin neck I will break if I ever see on it... But this unhappy event did let me upgrade to a Specialised Stumpjumper M4... which I love very much. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

(at least, I did, until it chucked me off in the Lakes, resulting in A&E, a crush fracture to one of those important bones that sit in a vertical column somewhere central, and a rather long period of painful bike-free convalescence... http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif)

Dave the B: you ride a Raven?!? How can you afford that and the fuel bills for your s13..? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif What does that baby weigh in at?

How I got my Raven:

I used to do hand gun shooting as well as MTB
When the government banned hand guns I took all the money and bought the Raven. It was love at first sight.

That was in 1997 and I still grin myself silly everytime I ride it.

Every year I take the Cannondale demo bikes out for a spin, but none of them handle as well as the early Raven....not even the new Scalpel http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif (The Jeckal rode as if none of the bolts were done up.... lefty fork were good though)

Oh and it only weights 23lbs http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Yeah!!!!! Wheelie's rock!

1 Handers are good, but you have to either throw your wieght really far back, or just take the wieght of the bike on your arm.. I do the latter, but with my right arm... So if i fall off the back ive got no chane of saving my self with the rear brake...

Coasters and Manuals are hard. I still havent got it. I can muster about 2 metres on a good day http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

Dont you love it when you start to fall to one side, try to correct it by leaning, and hit a wall? It impresses everyone around........

Paz,
I do the 'weight on one arm trick' but leaving my left hand on the bars...still manage to flip it though http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Ever ridden an exBMXer's bike?..
rear brake on the right!!!!

I pulled the front up, saw the handle bars go over my head and woke up with strange people looking down on me http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

I couldn't ride for a month after that

Manuals just scare the crap out of me....how the fock do people do them especially on those ikkle BMX's

I'm getting the knack of coasters...ride down a hill, pull up the front, lean back and pray the brake works......cool

Do you dirtjump?
Tryed that for a while, now I tend to Dir****ch...me chicken ****?..oh yes

Roger that one, mine handles just about everything, very plush. The newer ELO ones don't have as much adjustment though.

Worst thing about them is that everyone says "You've lost a bit of your fork mate....". It wasn't funny the first time let alone the 500th time.

Exellent http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif a real Klein, none of your watered down Trek rubbish...and titanium, it may not be in fashion anymore but it still rocks in my world

I hope it has bar-ends too..I use a set of 1991 Onza's with titanium bolts...old timer or what???

Bet it weighs no more than a wet tissue

AGH! BMX's! Dont mention those things to me... Last time i rode one, i was jumping off this wall (not big, bout 2 foot)... I jumped, foot slipped off the pedel and i had a full on metal studded Flat land pedal stuck in my shin... I know have a few spots on my shin where hair no longer grows http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

No dirt jumping for me, it involes those damn BMX's again... Messed about with it on Mountain Bikes, but never got into it... After nearly falling off the back of my bike whilst i was in the air, i gave up on it! lol! And im gettin old now... 20 and all, it gets harder. When i were a lad..................

I cant do coasters for the life of me either... I really need to learn, it would save energy.

Do you use a DH bar for your street antics? I have one, and it took some getting used to, but it definatly give more scope...

Keystone,
Anodised metal......not purple is it? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Pazza,
You think your getting old...I'm 36 http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
I gave up on dirt jumping about two years ago when, in the space of two months, I cracked a rib and lost all the skin on my right elbow and my mate Ham(the same age) exploded his knee when he flat landed a double!!
We still ride street when we feel brave only now we wear all the pads we can find.

Yes I use a DH bar, much more control on the dropoff's , but can be a bit messy on overgrown singletrack.

Cool....MTB and 200sx's all on the same board
Xmas just came early http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif
