Right who can help settle an argument in the office by answering how to solve this question.
A plane has a constant air speed of 225 meters per second regardles of gravity etc, this is a perfect world and the plane can travel at 225 mtr/s in any situation. if it flew at 90 degrees (straight up) in one second it would have an altitude of 225 meters. The question is if it flew at a constant 225 meters per second at an angle of 22 degrees what would it's altitude be after 1 second? someone help it's nearly coming to blows here with everyone waffleing on about variouse mathamatical formulas.

You at work too then?
Bored shedless at the mo..........

Have now got Mensa Maths Mahem to contend with too http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

Were you driving from the A41 to the Magic Roundabout at about 3:45pm on Boxing day?

If so, I saw you!!!! I was walking alone the Canal and saw a red S13 with a performance zorst on it. Was it you?

Was thinking about charging up the bridge to get a closer look, but thought twice about it, considering I was looking like the michelin man (was very cold) and was balaclarved up, well almost....

Had visions of scaring the cr@p out of you http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif, and then getting run over http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

84.29 metres (providing 22degrees is from the horizontal)

Hi Nathan!

Altitude = sin 22° * 225m
= 0,3746 * 225 = 84,28 m

greetings

ok, it took a second until the penny dropped:

speed = 225m/s
angle = 22 degrees

Nathan, what kind of mod are you planning for your car???? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Chears guy's thats what I thought, what people here were arguing about was ground speed etc, But I've put them straight that my plane can do 225 mtr/s at any angle it wants http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif
