Does anyone know if it's possible to get a Cat 1 alarm with remote start and if so how much they cost?

I'm not a tart honest! It's just that if I'm on a day shift I have to leave bloody early (my other half does it 5 days a week) and at this time of year it'd be nice to let the car (Almera) warm up a bit before driving it, also nice not to freeze your t1ts off as well!

Just wondering if anyone had any experience of them?

Cheers
Dave

Black Almera GTi/Blue S14, standard apart from loud stereo and blue smelly tree.

Can't say I've had experience of them but I know you can get them. Clifford make 'em I believe.

As for cost I think they are around £400 but you probably have to buy the module which handles the remote starting on top of that.

Why not get a Kenlowe pre-heater?

Save petrol, save cold starts, save wear, save money, (costs about £120), save pissing your neighbours off first thing in the morning.

Down side? I suppose you have to plug it in....

According to my alarm's documantation, Toad Ai606, you can program it to remote start but it then invalidates the Cat 1 certificate.

Not sure if this is part of the Cat 1 remit or whether it's just my alarm.
