Hello all,

I am not an owner, but just wanted to express my evny of all you lucky enough to own this very fine RWD car...

My story is a very sad one... I lived for many years in the UK where I studied in Uni, and was considering getting a car to take home (Greece) afterwards...

I wanted a car with GUTS, and ofcourse the transmission on the right place (REAR). So I opted for the 200SX, which fitted all the criteria like a glove.

I slaved over a ****e job at KFC for a year, and the only thing that kept me going in that ****house was the thought of my own 200SX...

Unfortunately after ammassing the money needed to get a nice 92-93 200SX, I asked the Ministry of Transport here about the purchase. I was told I would need to pay the car's purchase value again here to have it properly registered in Greece...

Imagine my disappointment... So I said, right, I'll get one from Greece and get my parents to help out.
However, my parents didn't want to help out, although I HAD found the perfect 200 (a beautiful red one!). I was literally holding the keys at the dealer's when my father told me he wouldnt help out...

They said, we'll help you but you need to buy a new car (no service costs...), and it'd have to be up to 1,400cc (cars here are taxed on their capacity).

So now Im stuck with a stupid Ford Puma 1.4, which is disgustingly slow, AND FWD... I cant even sell it, because I have to pay for it (for 4 more years...)

Every time I see a 200SX on the road I sigh and move on...

Some mates with the same car tell me that RWD is this and that, and me liking it is a minority, etc etc.

Have fun all. I know I will once I torch this bl**dy thing and get a V6 Capri!! hehehe

Feckin hell mate - you sound sadder than Stan Sad of Sad Close, Sadtown, who is working at the Longfaces Sad Singles bar except theres nobody there http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Just think of the money you are saving over us. And I know what Greek roads are like - youd be far more likely to go flying backwards off a cliff http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/eek.gif

your time will come, grasshopper.

On the plus side, the Puma has quite a nice gearchange http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Not that it makes up for being FWD http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

Was on Lefkada this summer and saw a couple of 200'ds but withe those roads would you really want one???
Always a bummer when you can't get the car that you want but the Puma can't be that bad, at least it's fairly exiting handling wise, why don't you just tweek it?
Welcome to the board by the way.

Yeah, I saw a white one cruising around argostoli in cephallonia.
If you do a search for the one in Lefkada on the "was it you" thread, youll find there were about 6 of us that saw it!! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/rolleyes.gif

You've not trained your parents very well, have you?

My mum bought mine for me. She just bought my sister a Corolla and was feeling guilty so bought me a car too. She said it had to be Japanese for reliability. I said it had to be rear wheel drive for safety, and since the 200 is only 1800cc(same as Bev's Corolla) that was the choice!

Easy when you know how..... http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/wink.gif

Telling her it was either a Nissan, a BMW, or a Porsche helped too! Beemers and Porkers are too fast and flash, apparently.....
