Hi fellow North Western Folk,

Just got myself a 1998 S14a a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it :smitten: It replaced my Racing Puma which was great when it wasn't broken - but I think I'm hooked on Turbo's already, just got to get used to RWD now.

Anyway main reason for the post is because the car is overdue a major service and I wanted to see who you'd recommend in the area. I was planning to take it up to HiTeq unless there's someone nearer Nantwich or Chester?

Cheers,

Dunk

think HiTeq have quite a good reputation, think you'll find that most people on here do their own servicing though, I know I for one like to know what sort of oils going into it

Yeah, most of us do our own/each others, heard quite a few horror stories of Nissan not knowing WTF to do with a 200SX and YTS mechanics going out for a flat-out burn from cold (a BIG BIG no-no in a turbo car).

HiTeq have a good rep though.

Most of the "major service" (its a FD3 if you go to nissan) is doable by anyone, I'm just getting through mine, only the engine coolant and Diff oil to do ...

Welcome to the board .. hope you dont get addicted to modding .. the 200SX has MASSIVE potencial and its so so easy to do most of us have .. can get pricey though .. saaying that I got to 270BHP for less than £500 and most of that was on a exhaust ...

I tried Hiteq yesterday but they're moving units and not taking on any more work at the moment...oh well looks like I'll just wait till they're sorted again.

Unless anyone can suggest somewhere near Nantwich (home) or Chester (work)?

Hiya  You could always service the car at silviagod's garage under supervision. I would be happy to help and I am sure Tenman and his turbo gasket team would too

LOL, aye, the informal Sunday meets at SilviaGods are certainly a good way to learn how to fix yer car.

I'd also help ... did the gear oil last week, oill/filter/plugs are easy enough, still trying to find a 1/2 inch socket that will get into the diff filler without the chassis/exhaust getting in the way, know it can be done, Petrol/Pete managed it.
Cant do this week though .. down south, happy to help bank holiday Monday if thats good ...
