A23 Shut both ways from Hickstead

If you were thinking of going to Brighton via the A23 - don't.

An accident, obviously bad due to the number of police men I could see in snatched glances as I was driving down a parallel country lane.
Dunno what has happened, but the whole thing is shut from Hickstead to Brighton inclusive. IN both directions. Huge tailback from Hickstead.

what is interesting is the following:

I was in Brighton with my mum who was at a concert.

She came out at halftime and called me (appx 1610) to see if I was OK or where I wanted to go home. I was OK so she stayed for the 2nd half.

Had we gone home there and then, we'd have been about 5mins max on either side of the accident, or right in the middle of it.

or had I been down there by myself I'd have been right in that one probably.

Interesting.

Have just found out that 2 of the occupants in the BMW that went thru the reservation were relatives of my dads colleagues.

And the age of the BMW driver?
