Considering that most women love cats and most StreetKa and SportKa owners will be bought by women, Ford have really ****ed that one up haven't they!
I personally think that is really sick, don't like that at all, if it was a child, would it still be funny? :hurl:

That's just wrong.
If they'd put a few sardines on the roof of the ka they could easily have done three or four of the little bastards

Its funny :D but wrong :(
as someone with a dubious sense of humour at the best of times, i think ford got it wrong.
maybe next time they can get a small puppy to cock it's leg on the exhaust, and the ka could fry it with a flame. or maybe a small child could help daddy wash the car and the car could close it's doors, and amputate the childs arms. now thats funny. or how about the car vering off the road through a school playground? ha ha ha. where's the picture of the snake inside the engine bay? fooking hilarious...
the pigeon one also showed an animal being killed, but it was funny. this wasn't.
Coz they cant show cars being driven fast any more in adds they are tring to think up other ways to make cars look aggressive.... but that aint it  feckin marcketing people
Sorry, as a cat owner I found that sick. :(
Same here :(
Pigieon was funny, being vermin and all, cant say the same for cats.
I can't distinguish between any animal, pigeon, cat, rat, mouse etc  no animal whatever it is should be used if it is just destructive
No :indiff: don't like it
totally unnecessary and will feed some sick persons mind

wont be on tv, probably just cinema, i thought the pigeon one was good, decapitations just a lil bit too much.
But still who wants a ford, specially a ka(k) when you got a 200sx!?!?
Same here :(

Yes I can. Over 1,000,000 feral cats in the UK, one of the biggest threats to our native birds and amphibians.

I still laugh when I see it :wack:
I like cats but that ad's so obviously CGI that it is hilarious - I cry with laughter every time I see it. :D
Conversly, a colleague who absolutely detests cats with every fibre of his being thought it was sick and disgusting.
Funny old world. :)

Has this ad actually been aired on tv?
I understood Ford have denied this is anything to do with them. I believe they had the original website that was hosting this shut down.
Personally I'd like to see a Sport Ka ad where the evil twin runs over a group of pikeys or illegal immigrants, and reverses over them to make sure.

Ford did make it.
http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_819254.html
spokeswoman for Ford said that the advert was aimed at young men and was intended to be humorous.
"We do take the public's concerns very seriously but we believe that people will understand that we would not hurt an animal in the making of an advert.
"The car is most certainly not designed to hurt animals."

The cat advert was never approved by Ford, it was leaked onto the internet without their knowledge. Someone will probably get in a bit of trouble....
Ford has been keen to tap into the possibilities of e-mail-based viral marketing, but has come under fire this week for a distasteful short video clip which appears to be advertising the SportKa, "the Ka's evil twin." Ford was criticized last year for a clip which showed a pigeon being hit by the car's bonnet, but this latest clip has caused even more of a controversy amongst animal protection groups. The computer-generated animation shows a ginger cat getting decapitated by the car's sunroof before its headless body slides down the bonnet. Ford has, however, been quick to stress that the clip is not an authorized ad, but something put together by the creative team at its ad agency, Ogilvy & Mather.
A statement issued today says that the clip "was specifically rejected by Ford and Ogilvy. The clip was not released, but has been leaked over the internet. We at Ford Motor Company find this unofficial 'advertisement' totally unacceptable and reprehensible, and have briefed UK animal welfare organisations. A full investigation has been ordered by Ford and Ogilvy to determine how this unapproved material found its way into the public domain. The action in the video clip was totally computer-generated, and we would like to assure customers that no animal was harmed in its making."

Me too! (although the great fat bruiser of a cat that shares my house would probably rip the sunroof off!)
Can`t understand what all the fuss is about, after all it is 'computer-generated'. Just like many horror/action movies with people getting sliced up, decapitated etc, etc. No complaints there eh? I`m sure there are many preliminary ads knocked up, not just by car manfacturers, that are made and rejected because they`re distastefull but they`ve got to have something to shortlist from. These two ads are pretty tame really and the twisted sickos into that type of thing are too busy surfing ogrish.com/rotton.com (where things ARE`NT computer generated) to see any T.V./cinema ads. :) Steve (now donning flameproof suit!)
I love animals, and loathe cruelty to animals more than cruelty to humans.
But I found that advert very very funny indeed :D No animals were harmed, so where's the problem?
