I just had a quote from Adrian Flux for £750 fully comp on an S14a valued at around £7000. Im 22 with 2 years ncb. Try the flux.
Dave
I'm 23, with a '98 S14a
I pay about £1400 with Adrian Flux, all mods (and points) declared :(
Roll on 25...
I'm 25 with a '95 S14
Full protected NCB protected,
Mods sort of declared, no points but waiting for a court summons :(
I paid £699 last September.

Don't worry, my '6 pointer' cost me no real increase in premium - so it basically cost me what I would have saved that year :(
Every time I go past a speed camera now, I try to hide my face behind my middle finger ;) :D

What did you do to get 6 points may I ask?
If I do get a summons it will most likely end in 12 points for me! :(
It's been 4 months so far!!! Still waiting

I got caught in November - went to court in April :(
Got caught doing over twice the speed limit (66 in a 30), and was WELL lucky not to get a ban :)
Not bad for second gear though!

That's only 1010 mph over the limit! :o You've had it sonny! :p
I assume you mean 108 - in which case you were over by 38 mph, and I was over by 33 mph - but in a 30 where as you were in 70.
Depends on the magistrate really, but plead clean license, push the 'need car for work' aspect, and get a letter from work if you can.
You might 'get off' with 6 points like I did
Whoops! Typo , I meant 108mph.
1080mph? I wish  :D
Just out of interest, where did get caught and how long did it take for the summons to come through?
Did you use a solicitor?

Where was I caught? By a camera belonging to Berkshire's finest, near Leighton Buzzard on my way to work :(
I can't remember how long the summons took, but it wasn't long after I sent the NIP back. If you've been given the NIP it's just a matter of time :(
I did use a solicitor, don't know if it helped or not.

I was doing 110mph in a 40mph zone, as I came around the corner I notice a bloke wearing a yellow jacket with reflective strips on pointing a speed gun at me.
Oh bugger me thinks, i've lost me licence job etc. After pulling me over he asks how fast I was going, i replied "I dont know officer, I wasn't looking" he wandered off to his collegue whos holding the gun then comes back, he said to me "you must have been doing at least 60" I thought to myself, yep I'll settle for that. Then he said "Luckily for you as you came around the corner the white van in front of you was dead in line with you and our speed gun, so we didn't get your exact speed" And that was that, I was free to go. :D :D :D :D
Anyway, enough of that, Im 22 with 3 years NCB, 3 points, and pay £1090 fully comp on a 97' S14a. Thats with Tescos but they dont like mods.
Cheers,
Dave.
OMG!!!!!! 110 in a 40!!!!!!
You were a lucky lucky lucky man. Seriously though, it's a 40 limit for a reason!!!

I got a NIP 5 years ago for "carrying a passenger in a dangerous position"..
Never heard anything since.
Just don't give them any reminders whatever you do :D
I was given the NIP on the spot and told I'll be going to court. Went to the cop shop showed them my license, insurance etc... and that was that!
Hmmmm?
Papa> Carrying a passenger in a dirty position? You dirty old man! ;) :D

Yeah I'm with Adrian Flux and they have their own modification department so it's relativley chaep.
I've got a wolerhampton post code 25 yrs old full no claims and paying £800 with £300 excess.
About a month ago I rang Adrian Fulx to declare my mods (17" wheels, Bomex rear spoiler, K&N air filter and Bailey dump valve) thinking it was gonna be about £250. I was well impressed when they told me it was £89 with an extra £50 excess for the wheels. ;)

Exactly what happened to me. Went to the cop shop and showed my docs. Went away. Forgot about it..
BTW I'd love to say I'd been caught by the Police having a Taylforth :D Unfortunately nothing as exciting as that ;)
