Right, up to now Ive always found them to be OK. This is the 2nd year Ive been with them, 1st year was fine - no problems, but this year is another story!

Firstly let me say that should there be a pub in the land called "The Adrian Flux" they will sell you a beer - yes, however, it will be an empty pint glass that isnt filled till last orders, and until then they will keep you topped up with shots of water!!!

Fact - Flux dont issue a certificate for what seems like an age - great especially when you can tax a car on a cover note.

Heres my story:

Just before Christmas I was stopped during a campaign against drink driving, brethalised and passed (didnt have a drink at all), however I did get a 7 day ticket. I called flux for my certificate as my last cover note had expired and changed my address. They said they would send one out asap. However one never turned up and I had to go to the police station with no insurance. Thankfully the police woman agreed to call the insurance company for me and clarify that I was covered (wonder how many other coppers would do this).

Next day I call them to give them down the banks and find out where my certificate was. Turns out they got my address WRONG!! and there was a £21 admin fee. I gave them my card number and they said they would take it direct debit. Christmas goes by, and still no docs, until another letter comes through asking me to pay the £21 before they will release the docs. I called them and they took my card number AGAIN!!!

Anyway, since Christmas and now I have been pulled over by the fuzz, and got another 7 day ticket, this time in my friends car (Im covered to drive any car with the owners permission) I had a cover note, but this didnt say I could drive other cars.

Thankfully it was the same police woman, and she helpfully called the insurance company for confirmation for me, though she said technically the officer who gave me the ticket could still proceed with the matter as I didnt produce a certificate

Last week, another letter comes through still asking me to pay the £21. I called them before and really tried holding back, but ended up a little wound up (wouldnt you be?) The woman finally processed my card payment whilst I was on the phone and said the docs would be sent out first class - guess Ill have to wait and see.

Flux may have been the cheapest, but the money Ive spent on hold to them probably puts my premium way above anyone elses, and there service can be described as bad!!

Needless to say I really doubt my car will be reinsured with them next year.

Rant over :D

It was 3 months before I got my certificate from them - after a bit of chasing.

And they charge me a £15 admin fee every time I declare a mod, so I tend to do it in batches now!

Btw, they can't charge you the admin fee twice if they make a mistake and send the cover note to the wrong address - it was a fault with their admin which you paid for! - i.e. not your problem. Don't let them try and sting you for that! Also, they shouldn't really be charging an admin fee for a cover note - as they are legally bound to send it to you anyway. I think they are trying to make money out of people who need cover notes for tax or producers etc. DEMAND that cover note, and refuse to pay admin fees for something they should have sorted out months ago!

Just mention trating standards, and watch them get their lazy a$$es into gear.

I'm also with the FLUX.

What have you declared and what they charge for them?

I need to ring them soon and mention the boost controller and a few other bits.

I declared S/S Exhaust, K&N 57i, Eibach Springs, Aftermarket alloys. Total increase in premuim: £0.00, total admin cost: £15.00 a pop!

So, declare them all at once, save a fortune.

I'll have to delcare my strut brace soon. Do you need to declare Turbo Timers and Boost Gauges?

OK, that's not too bad I guess.

I declared my SS zorst and I think I declared the K&N 57i but I'm not 100% sure.

I haven't declared the strut brace, greenstuff pads or gauges. Do I need to declare any of these? I'm not sure about the gauges?

I guess they'll charge me a bit for the boost controller?

I have to admit that Flux are great initially but if you want to get throught to 'em for anything other than a quote for new insurance, you have to wait on hold for ages.....

Then you get some stroppy bird on the line giving it large...all the same I will use them again because they are one of the cheapest around...

I am with them. They tried to charge me about £20 admin when changing my plate about 2 weeks into the policy I told them to "kiss my ass" or words to that effect and they said "ok" then I said "well you've got 3 choices... the left cheek, the right cheek, or right in the middle"...

I was ready to tell them where to stick their policy (probably was within the cooling off period or something) and so they backed down. Guess it depends which person you get on the day...

U need to declare anything that has been changed or added from the manufactures spec.

Otherwise, if ur car gets stolen
1- they wont pay for stuff u havent declared
2- they may well invalidate ur insurance cos u didnt declare them

I hav now been with them for 4 years, the last 2 of which was on a modded Golf that they insured as Group 19 (hehe). However wen i asked how much to swap my insurance onto my 98 200sx, they said that there was no way that I could be insured on a 200sx, they then apparently checked with their insurer's and confirmed that i could'nt. I then did loads of internet quote's and got sent a phone no & reference no, which i promtly rang, it turned out to be Adrian Flux and it was the best quote that i had got by far ??????????? it seems that they are very good with quotes for 1st time customers, but don't do much for existing customers.
Oh, by the way in the 4 years i've been with them i hav never got my policy thru before the 4 month mark :(

As with all the comments above, I've found them painfully slow when dealing with existing customer enquiries, although when I requested a mods declaration form it was on the doormat within a couple of days.
They are cheap though, I guess you get what you pay for.
