That is a blindin' price. Do they ship the stuff over the pond to good 'ole blighty? I have checked the site and it is not clear whether they do or not. And is there any difference between the 200sx and the 240sx

SteveSadler
19-06-2001, 14:01
There is no differences,
Paul, you fitted a strut brace from JC whitney didnt u? Did u need to do any major mods of any kind.

Ive order KYB AGX's not from pdm but from Performance Suspension Technology. The fitment was for the 240sx. Basicaly the car is the same except that they use the 2.4 pick-up truck engine - KA24E and DE. Other than that the chassis is basically the same.

My shocks fitted no probs and I saved heaps too.

whos up for a group buy??? I certainly am.

Nath, u use a quick shift dont u. Are they any good?

Group buy sounds good to me. Are the quick shift mods easy to do?. I have yet to work out how to take the bleedin' gear lever off.

Oh dont get me started, I was swearing at Mr nissan that night, the know itself is screwed and glued on, I was hanging of it with mole grips. apart from that it's very very very easy. you take your gear knob off, totaly remove the center consol. undo 4 screws around the gear stick to gain access to a big circlip un do this and its out. it takes about 10-15 min after you get the bloody gearnob off.

Ive obviously been single too long. My hands were strong enough to undo the gearknob fairly easily when I was installing my amp and stereo!!!

Ok so Mr Sumo put mine on, a bloody great big chunk of glue fell out as well. and when I mean I was swinging on it with mole grips, that means with all my weight (and thats alot).

I got so pissed at taking the damn thing off that I just cut it with a hacksaw and had to hoover all the rubber up, then I cut down the length gearstick and made the top dome smaller so my new knob still fitted on, makes a small difference when you don't have to push the gear lever so far !!!

Steve, all you have to do is stick the strut bar in a vice and bend it a little(heat the bends first), it may sound tricky but it ain't.

I looked into getting a quickshift from America but apparently it wouldn't work, there gearbox's are slightly different to ours.

When i get a moment i will fire of a e-mail to pdm, and see if this short shift kit will fit. Considering how cheap it is it is definately worth investigating.

If the stick does fit the euro S14, I'd definately be in for a group buy.... at the very least we should be able to save on shipping costs.

Err.. hmm yes actually should have ended that a bit sooner.. Was meant to be the Arnie bit out of Predator but Matt does a top impression of it. Yes, I'm in for a strut brace! Anything to help out with the drifting practice!

anyone else.

what I'll do is compile a list of those interested in strut braces/quick shifts so far and post towards to middle of next week.

Then final confirmation from all memebers by next Friday.

Atleast then I can email PDM and let them know their is a substantial number of us seriously interested.

So... whos else. comon, make ya minds up.

if u ask me, the prices their quoting are bloody cheap. just shows how much we get ripped off.

Names Please!!

REAR strut brace ?
Oh dear I really am living in the stone ages. Next week I'll probably find out that orange stuff I see sometimes is actually FURE or something...

Ok then in that case does it sound reasonable to have a front + rear strut brace or will this make it a bit too stiff? I'd like to put an order in for front + back at the moment unless someone tells me this will make me spin out every time I engage the clutch.
