I have now saved my quote with Tescos, which I will be buying when I turn 21 - 2 months time. £900 fully comp for me (will be 21), 3 years no claims and no claims/convictions. Not bad at all for a young'un me thinks. Would be £650 TPFT but I would feel safer with fully comp.
Unfortunately, I still have to buy 2 months insurance off my current insurer - £210.

Where's that registered at? Must be a real country hick postcode http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/wink.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/wink.gif

They qouted me thus:

22 (will be 23)
Fully Comp
4 yrs NCB
'96 s14 (I hope!) http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
3 points (but only TS10)
Deepest darkest Derbyshire postcode
All the trimmings (eg protected NCB, legal costs, etc)

£1119

If I get rid of the protected NCB and up the voluntary excess, I can get it down to nearer £920...

You don't wanna protect your NCB? It sounds like a good idea to me, as it's the only thing that allows me, at this tender age, to consider anything more than a 2CV 600cc... http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif or does it not really protect it, it's just some insurance mongrel scam to make me part with more money?

Cant protect it - I think its my history of leaving cars in ditches
Theres always something you can insure - 3 litre senator anyone??
Id consider it if they offered, but I hope that if I do write it off, its not going to be my fault (this time http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif )

The trouble with protected NCB is that although you still get the same percentage discount after a bump, the premium will go up as you are now a higher risk, and I'm not sure whether all insurers will accept protected no claims if you change companies.

Personally I don't bother with it, but then I've never had an accident, so even if I did make a claim, I would still be on at least 50%. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
