had a quote off elephant but found them expensive nearly 200 quid dearer than my current dealer adrian flux.
Elephant would not insure me at all.

I am seriously interested in a getting a 200sx. I am currently driving a SAXO diesel (54mpg) but bloody slow.
I have 3 yrs NCB, 3 points for speeding, 3 further points for speeding within last 5 years (which insurance needs to know) and a just turned 25 years old.
Halifax charge me £495 fully comp for the Saxo, Elephant quoted £420 fully comp. For a 200sx they quoted £621 fully comp. For just an extra £200, I can drive a lot faster, better and more enjoyable car.
Just have to sort out finances and get a 200sx......very soon!

Watch out for mods though - I went with them coz I thought they were good ....... but it turns out theres a very small list of mods they will allow, and then after that they wont touch you :(
I told them I had a different colour actuator - they cancelled my insurance
BTW - elephant, Tescos and Direct Line only ask for three years history - handy if you wrote off two cars 3 years ago ......... :D

Cheers for the warning. I got another quote tonight from them for a Nissan Sunny GTiR, expeting 4 figure, they quoted £810.
It pays to phone around, stuff the brokers. I'll definately spend a whole day racking up my phone bill phoning everyone and anyone.
AOL reported a couple of weeks ago the insurance is due to increase shortly by an insane 40%. Apparantly due to the Sept 11th, the reinsurers (reinsurers are the people who insure the insurance companies against natural disasters and terrorist disasters etc) are revaluating their place in the world and are bumping up the insurance companies premiums which of course is passed on to us mere mortals.

 Watch out on that insurance quote from Elephant. Basically what ever you type as your cheapest quote on the internet is then reduced by £10 - £20 quid on their quote.
If you then phone them... a different story!
When i called they told me that they wont insure me as i'm under 25.
That the premium quoted on the net is b@llock$!
Shame as well.

Got the docs this morning. I think Flux is cheaper, but they get a right slagging off. Not had a problem yet with Elephant, but that may change at renewal. lets face it, they are all only in it for the money innit.
got mine for £355 protected from elephant
old sod with full discount
