Does anyone have experience of this?

I've stuck with the same insurance company for years driving a Fiat Strada and now a crappy Astra. I phoned them up for a prospective quote on a J reg S13 and they quoted me between £1250 and £1500 fully comp! The best I found on the web is £980 for Tescos.

Has anyone else changed insurance companies and cars at the same time? Where there any difficulties?

It's only the insurance that is stopping me buying one now as I have the cash (well a lone hence fully comp insurance) waitChanging cars and insurance companies at the same time.ing.

BTW I'm 25, 4 years NCB and in Luton ATM. Quote for a stock S13.

Tescos have done it for me before, and there was absolutely no hassle - Im 22, Cambridge with a standard S13 2 Yrs NCB (and 1 stack that I had to tell them about) and got £1060 and it was all done and dusted in one phone call, the day before I bought the car
Unfortunately, that day happened to be right in the middle of the fuel crisis, but thats a different story .............
Also note that Tesco can be a bit funny about mods ...........

OK, Tesco's sounds good (I think a stock S13 will blow my socks off will no mods considering Im currently driving a 1.3 E reg astra ehm).

Did you have to send off your driving licence or other documents? It's been so long since I changed that I have forgotten.

I once changed cars from a Cavalier to a VW Scirocco when with CO-OP insurance.

They quoted my total premium would be £700 but when I went to pay the extra they demanded £700 on top of what I was already paying.

Money grabbing b******s! Never used them again.
