Yes I have one :D, although I am nowhere near that level. That is an impressive routine he does and is totally real, when flown like that reversing the pitch of the main rotors makes them behave kind of robotically.

Anyone thats interested in this should/HAS to visit the 3D Masters in Northampton this year, you will see the best model heli pilots in the world doing stuff like this, it isnt easy ! if you have ever had a play with a model heli you will have maximum respect for anyone that can do this ! A guy called Curtis Youngblood is considered/recognised as one of the best in the world he does a lot of movie working flying scale models in films like Empire of the Sun, he is always at the event and always puts on a good show. Turbine powered helis are 'the thing' now, they are very slick :)

If you are now hankering after a heli, I strongly recommend you start with a plane first to get used to the whole orientation thing and weather effects and distance perception, engine set-up all the basics really and you must get someone with experience to help/show/teach you or it will end in tears. Teaching yourself to fly a model heli would be goddam dangerous ! and very expensive, even with training aids like computer sims or training undercarriage as you WILL crash.

My dad and I have got four model heli's a Hirrobo Shuttle , A Raptor 50 , A piccalo Pro, also a Stupidly expensive electric 30 size that I can't remember the name of right now. that is real  bloody good flyer that one.

I was in the same club as Mark Christie and Dave wilshere for a long time and flew with them a lot. they are the top heli flyers in the UK.

I have a Hirobo Shuttle ZX, they are a bit cheap and nasty, but do the job, although I do have an OS32FX with a Weston UK tuned pipe :) I did have carbon blades, till I lost it doing figure of eights at about 3' in front of me. I was use a FF6 tranny, I havent flown it for nearly a year though. I spend most of my spare time working on my cars now. I have lots of planes aswell, they dont get much use either, I will never sell them though, when I get old and grey (not long to go!), no doubt I'll dust them all off again.

Why, do you fly anything ?

Is Dave Wiltshire the Super Tigre engine man ? ? the name is familiar. Do you go to the Nationals, Ill be there again this year, last years was cancelled IIRC ? Im building a free flight model this year for the free flight fun fly thing in the evenings, cant wait, always a top day out.

To be honist mate I only still do the modeling every now and again because its the only thing my dad and I have ever done together. I enjoyed it from the age of 9 to 17 but I've been into cars since. although i Did get my fixed wing B certifacte at the age of 11. and did patternship aerobatic compotions for a bit but have lost interst now. a really good hobby though, after that ramble no I won't be at the Nats and yes Dave Wiltshire is the son of Mick who was the Super Tigre man Dave is the Motors & Rotors man.

I have just purchased a Kyosho Concept 30 but it has a MDS engine which I believe are c**p so want to replace it with a OS or Irvine (from what I have been told).

Have not had it started up yet as need batteries and aerial for the tx although it does seem a bit old.

My local RC shop just did not want to know cause they said it was too old & should have gone to them to buy new (I wish I had the money & was a wedding gift off the mrs)

Any advice, as there are no clubs round liverpool and the local RC shop is useless.

Cheers
