sorry, I meant an Estate Agent

Has anyone here sold their house with out using an Estate Agent ( or know someone that has ) ? I don't want to pay someone £5k to sit behind a desk waiting for a buyer to come to them, then spend 10 minutes waffling their way round my house ( I can do that well enough myself ).

Is it pretty easy, any problems to look out for ?

cheers

Iain

Its just all goes through the sollicitors and u have to do your own advertising?

I bought our place without estate agents. I was looking in the area and a lady living their got wind and got our number, rang up around 3pm and i went round to view 9pm that night. Surveys etc as normal - more viewing. My solicitor dealt with all paper work. Sign sealed and delivered

Was hard still with surveys etc but a lot easier without estate agents to deal with too and the benefit of knowing i was the only one in the running
