I'm in nottingham too - only down the road really.... distracted a bit here, castaway on the TV - you know how it is ? Shocking, the way the moral fabric of society has degenerated to the level where attractive women display their protruberances....
Back to the point though... yep I should be there.

What time is everyone planning on turning up??? On a day like that, I think the racing doesnt start till about 1pm, but there is practise in the morning. Im thinking to get there for 12-1ish. As far as I can remember admission is about £10 (ripper - stop trying to rip off the young impressionables on the board), but as for where to meet inside donno - any suggestions?? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/confused.gif

We need somewhere where we can:

1) All gather together (ah...)
2) Find without too much problem
3) Have a decent bit of room

How about the grid, then? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Seriously, SOMEONE must have been before.
Otherwise, it'll have to be a motorway service station job.

Well, I've never been there. Is it off the A50 ? my favorite road ? I think it is.
There's a new service station opened up on the A50 in the last 6 months - don't think there's anywhere closer than something on the M1.
Ripper. My place on the starting grid... my umbrella... 50 quid ?

Would be good if we all met up somewhere before we went into the grounds, then we could all cruise in together in convoy and look real cool!!

Just imagine how many heads that would turn with all X of us turning up at the same time.

Hi Guys, well I am a new owner of a S14, chopped the boring old Beemer 520I in on it.
Spent a fortune on the 520I and it was still boring http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/mad.gif

So I would like to get some advice from you guys as to what to spend my hard earned cash on my little 200. Donnington sounds like the best place to start.
I await some details as where you are all meeting up and hope to see a 200sx convoy

StuyMac
31-08-2001, 15:47
Is anyone from that area??? Someone with a little local knowledge and can suggest somewhere to meet before then?

Only place I can think of, is East Mids airport, as its only a mile or so away, and the airport has gotta be very hard to miss - its the only thing with those things in the air going to and from it http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

C'mon, theres gotta be someone local???

I doubt it'll be worth doing a convoy as there will be very few people to go 'wow' or whatever...as this isn't that bigger race day, it certainly wont be hard to find people once inside, but a common parking area would be good. I suggested a parking place on some other thread, near Starkey's bridge. We can line up along the top of the hill. Just go straight along the muddy road after entering the in-field. Dont go down the hill, you'll be lucky to get back up...

Worring thing is, I went a couple of weeks ago and the gits have recently started to only allow cars with passes into the infield, not sure how you get them but I was well pi$$ed when I got there and found out, was the same when TOCA were there a couple of months ago. I think we may need to buy tickets in advance. If you cant get into the infield then you got to park outside then walk around, and if it rains we'll get soaked (like when I went last time, had to spend £10 on a sodding Mondeo motorsport umbrella)

I'll give them a ring on Monday and ask about the infield passes.

I know I said I _thought_ it was off the A50, but I think it's actually off the A42 ? I was driving up there this evening and I saw the signs. There's a donnington park services only 1/2 a mile away I reckon.

I know from experience getting up a muddy hill in an S14 requires a helicopter. I found last time it snowed I couldn't pull away in any gear on the flat other than reverse ! Tried to get up a hill - had to zig-zag the car accross the the kerb and walk home. Don't fancy that.
The "in-field" is normally nice place to be, did I say that ? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
