Im just south of Glasgow, we really need to get a suitable midway meet. Also some calling cards advertising the site to put under those fellow 200 owners windscreen wipers!( Dave or Keith up for this too ??). Theres a few S13/14 boys down my way who need a telling. I always see the cars parked in town but never on the move, and a few maturer owners who would maybe not approve. But u gotta try em, after all I am an old ba****d ! (30).

I am also just south of Glasgow in East Kilbride and I have seen only about 5 other 200SX's in the area.
I would be up for a meet as long as it was pretty central for everyone!

Alright Gee, I go shopping to E.K every second week, nice and dry indoors...but p***ed that they started charging for parking. My brother used to give me his spare residents permit which was fine when he stayed in the Murray, but he stays up in Whitehills now up across from the Stroud. A bit to far to walk, so I normally park across from the copshop and funnily get the same space left of the barrier going into the Hall car park. By the way do you know anyone who works in Avex or Smart Modular ?

Gee
29-11-2001, 10:45
J595HAS,
I'll keep an eye out for you then!

By the way what colour is your car?

Sorry, I don't know anyone who works there.

By the looks of it there is a healthy number of Scotsmen on the board and I think a meet could be in order.

Have any of you used MV Turbos in Carnock Fife? 'cos thats where her's is at the moment, and there is no sign of getting it back! Cheers Billy.

Hey Billy it will cost you a bit on the petrol running an SX up 'n' down the A80. I travel that road quite often when going to an electronics company in Dunfermline and it costs me a fortune. Some good opportunities for high speed tail out fun on the way back not far past Kincardine Br. Is the road Speed camera free?. Have seen mobile one in van in lay-by between bridge and roundabout at petrol stn. Hows the SX huntin? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Still cannot get hold of the s14 seller who told me to call today, giving the last one I saw a bit of serious consideration, not sure about the colour tho' hmmm, green? Cheers Billy.

Well Mr J595HAS what has happened to Ayr shore as you were saying, it was the best cruising spot for ages then the nazis put in the speed bumps, got my first reckless driving charge doon the beach!! When did you kick about there? 1990 was my best year serious fun and the Club de Mar, nice one! (im clearly gettin old)

I am Scottish, from Musselburgh but at uni in Glasgow, as such don't have a car yet but looking to get an S14 over the summer, was at the RR day at Star Performance on Sunday, had a great time, but came away thoroughly depressed by the fact that I don't have a car yet. :(

Umm, hiya everybody.

Kev
15-04-2003, 14:08
Jeeze, u should have said hi at least, i do recall seeing a corsa cos someone asked if it was running lol.
Ur welcome to come to the meet mate if ur interested, u dont nescesarily need to have a jap car, but a keen interest in them maybe.

Ps. i was the one with the burgandy one that went on last of the 200's, with the big wing.

Yeah I know. I walked by your car about four times, and I did intend to say hello, but you looked kind of busy, and I'm a bit shy at times  Was well impressed at the turnout though. Was I right in hearing that the guy with the green S14 was planning to slot in an RB25?! The little Pulsar was pretty mean too. What was that kicking out? Hopefully I'll have my own S14 to bring along next time, which'll be nice...

That little Corsa kicks out a whopping 40bhp I'll have you know. I can't even rip it out of my mate anymore, 'cos he's getting a bit sensitive about it :D

I am yes :) Just getting off the ground just now selling cars I fund the purchase of privately. Supra is the first one I've imported and I've also just imported an MR2 Turbo for a m8. Will set up as a proper company when I have the cash to do so. In anycase I'll be offering the same service - import to order as well as selling cars I choose to import with my capital.

My email addy is brian_stewart@barrysworld.com for whenever you're ready. Will be on here and other car forums anyways, I don't plan to disappear!

Why, what did you have in mind? An already modded beast from Japan?

Yeah, just want a beast thats already had the work done. I should graduate in a couple of years and have a decent job. Well, thats the plan. I'll keep your email address.
I had an MR2 turbo about 8 months ago and the bottom end went. Ended up replacing the whole engine. dont like them anymore. Ended up with my 200, I reckon there well better. Had a 200 before the MR2.

Hi,

thunder: hehe, typical 56k connection then :p

yeah, was just wondering if anyone was interested in a Jap Scotland club, specifically catering for the Scottish Jap Performance car scene (not just SX's).

Mods: I hope this kind of post isn't against the forum rules. If it is, I apologise. I'm not trying to take people away from the SXOC club, just trying to fill the gap in the Scottish scene :)

Kev
16-04-2003, 14:30
No good im afraid, ive initiated the banning procedures.
It is against sxoc rules to talk about another car club, never mind trying to draw members away.

LOL, yeah right

tell us more aout this club, hey we already have a meeting for it lol

R888 MYP
16-04-2003, 14:36
Hi,

well, after browsing through the net at all the different car clubs, it seems that most of them are based in England.

there are a few websites online that are supposed to be for the scottish enthusiast, but most of these are dead, or have no interest.

so basically, I started thinking, why not start a new Scottish car club that caters for all models of Japanese performance cars.

I can't do this on my own though, so am just trying to find other people that would be interested in working together to set this thing up.

Kev
16-04-2003, 14:44
Well im pretty sure u can count on sxoc for support as we usually find we have to rely on other cars to ,make up any numbers on events we arrange, like the rr day.
Brian im sure will sort out the mr2 boys, and u got the hondas id imagine.

Might be worth contacting Marc (crail loser) as im sure he would also be very interested, and has a good platform to advertise as he is a performance tuner.

Kev

Hi,

I actually own a Performance garage as well, and we have our own in-house rolling road, so rr days shouldn't be a problem ;)

Yep, I can deal with the Honda side no problem.

How do you think I should proceed with this? I know Thunder is definitely interested. Do you think you would have the time for it as well, or would you be too busy with the sxoc?

Kev
16-04-2003, 15:05
Will be finished uni in a couple of weeks for about 4-5 months so will have plenty of time.
Wat u wanting me to do?

Wats the name of the place u own?
Never knew of anywhere on the coast with an rr.

ps. should have said Marc has a skyline also so he too is into powerfull jap cars

R888 MYP
16-04-2003, 15:08
Hi,

The garage is called JapPerformance Ltd. We are based in sunny Irvine, about 30mins from Glasgow.

Basically, I think that we would need to sit down and discuss/plan on how to get this club up and running, and how to admin it etc.

Kev
16-04-2003, 15:16
Dunno how u feel about this, but id reckon the best way to do it is discuss it at the next meet, which will be in two weeks time(thu).
Cos myself, Brian and a few others should be there, including Kenny who owns a scooby doo, so he might be interested in informing the subaru boys, but we are all pretty interested in our cars so i think ud be able to sign up a few helpers there.

Any local SX meetings planned for the north.

Not too many SX members up north but I was gonna suggest meeting up with Mike, Nimo and any other SX owners up north the next time I go to my girlfriends parents (who stay near Turiff)
if they fancied having a sort of mini meet.
I'll give everybody some notice but its not likely for the next 3 or 4 weeks.

As Mike says Crail ususally has one or two of us floating about either the drag strip or the drifting oval/ice rink.

Red, Baily Dump, ITG Competition filter & an exhaust that makes a Sierra cossy Sapphire sulk in shame........ :o)

Glad to see such a friendly thriving community for us sx lovers or should that be addicts (SX Anonymous anyone).

Please see my wanted post if any Scottish members can help me out with a Nissan electric Ariel or the Bulb and plastic cover for the internal boot light.

See ya soon

John

Not too many SX members up north but I was gonna suggest meeting up with Mike, Nimo and any other SX owners up north the next time I go to my girlfriends parents (who stay near Turiff)
if they fancied having a sort of mini meet.
I'll give everybody some notice but its not likely for the next 3 or 4 weeks.

As Mike says Crail ususally has one or two of us floating about either the drag strip or the drifting oval/ice rink.

Cheers Martin

Might as well stick my oar in. :)

I'm from Ayrshire, I take the occasional trip to Ayr shore now and again to watch the 1.2 Corsa's race each other up and down and cringe and the obsenely young shelter skank...

Soon to have my spanky Silvery-blue (Azure?) 1992 s13 200sx :D

That's easy, prior to modding your SX to excess, you must've owned and appreciated a Sierra Saphire GLSi :wack:
