Hair extensions

How do you actually attach them?

Ive got a set that are attached a a "band" at the top, but how can these be attached into my own hair?

string won't work in this context... maybe glue then...

and to get the best match, i assume you should dye the extensions to match your hair perfectly, rather than dye your hair as you'll go all rooty?
