Anyone had problems with this before?
Its on my brother's computer and basically it dials up a premium rate porn line when you don't want it to...
Anyone got some simple removal instructions I can send him or know of any good free software that can get rid of it?
Cheers,
Ben
Could try SpyBot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) or Ad Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/)

They do an uninstaller but the dialer keeps coming back...
Got it on mine from a pic someone sent me.. Norton scanned it in yahoo and said it was clean
Search in google as a few people have had it, some managed to get rid of it with adaware but its pretty complicated...
I had to format my computer :( possibly a bit extreme, but it was pissing me off... I emailed the twats who do the dialer edvansolutions i think.. and they were no help :furious:

Yeah, saw some stuff on google but couldn't find any guaranteed fix.
Ad-aware doesn't pick it up either

From what i understood it wont pick it up unless its updated... then i think you have to get some log that it prints out then remove some specific files... but like you said there was nothing guaranteed on there...

Complain to the premium rate regulator, and get the line shut down...
Unauthorised access of your computer is a crime in most countries
there is one of those premium servers, that actually maintains your internet connection, so you do not realise it has flipped you. the surfing gets a bit slower that's all.
i noticed two of my internet phone calls ended and within seconds a premium rate had been called. fortuntely i noticed it had slowed down and shut down.
drive image to the rescue
it's nearly as usefull as those nice helful websites that decide you do not want to have google as your home page, and offer you unlimitedporn.fatslapperandhorsesareus.com as a home page.

Get BT to block premium rate calls that'll stop the dialer from working at least

>it dials up a premium rate porn line when you don't want it to...<
I'm trying to think of a situation when you would want it to... ;)
Look in the screensaver properties, you will probably find it keeps coming back when the screen saver runs
My dad  managed to get this, took about 2 minutes to figure out
this was on watchdog recently and they offered no real practical solutions apart from to get in contact with ICSTIS who regulate premium rate services etc or to just unplug your phone line directly...not very helpful that last one i guess. dunno if this has already been said or if it's helpful at all!

I got one of these things 2.
When Ever I boot my PC up, a little program runs which adds 3 favoriates in and changes the home page to easysearch.info or some bollocks and adds a few registry entires. Haven't got a clue whats telling it to load up.
I read it got installed via a Active X loophole in Internet explorer!
