Cheers, one down some to go
It wasnt on BTW. Why cant MS just set the default to on for fools like me
is the xp firewall actually any good? I'm running another firewall anyways, is it worth running both? Could this be why i'm always having problems with slow downloads etc?

Some say its good others dont. My philosophy is its there so use it. I had less bugs on my old PC with just AVG and XP firewall than I have got on the new PC with a new upto date Norton antivirus and Firewall. Must load  AVG again
everything is definitely running quicker! Want to try a d/l to see what sort of rate i end up with, as i've had difficulty receiving files recently. Wander if thats why, running 2 firewalls

Its not usually a good idea to mix 2 firewalls on the same PC, as it is also very bad practice to use 2 or more virus checkers. Zonealarm is free and does the job fine :)
I'm running zonealarm and have turned the xp one off - so i take it thats a good thing then?
Internet connection seems soooo much faster
