been talking to jezz on gower meet thread about turbos im pretty new to the turbo scene and any help advice is well appreciated.all was going well untill i put on my new mongoose zuast it was great but was not giving untill well up the rev range-4500 on-so i stuck on my old unifit pipercoss filter @ i do mean stuck as in taped on superb for about 2 hours untill it fell off on a show off run to resolven (nice road though).so if anyone local has an old filter nocking about im well interested as im running out of tape.had a nice chat with chris an he showed me the volvo fmic hes using i want one of those too

fixed my turbo gaskets 4 of them in total took me 9 hours lots of cursing @ the skin off two knuckles but shes fixed now going much faster than she stops brakes fecked up on me thursday by swansea airport locked up and left an inch of rubber on the road brand new to the canvas in 250 yrds.lucky they didnt blow up on me stupid old feck stopped for horses in front of me while he was unsighted over a small rise in the road damn near shat myself as i was going faster with the brakes on than i was before i started braking.going to strip them down tomorrow see if i can find the problem still could have been worse lots worse

the first time I changed a turbo it took me about 9 hours also, but when I changed Dan blu's a few weeks ago it took me just 3 1/2 hours :nod: .

Do you have abs on your car? :confused: You can do a check on the abs ECU (driver side rear quater) which will tell you if you have a problem with any of the abs components :thumbs:

Download the manual if you don't have it. I has a list of fault codes on page BR 50 ish also othe test procedures

thanks mate all this ecu stuff is foriegn to me what do i need to read the ecu @ where can i download the manual from? (yes i is that stupid).when i press the brake pedal it is making a groaning noise like a rusty spring being stretched out of shape @ it feels like its pushing back at my foot. not nice

chapter 3 ive broke 2 studs off manifold am geting replacement off ants13-cheers-any known probs or is it a straight spanner job?your thoughts advice greatly appreciated

Pretty straight forward but the 2 lower bolts at the back of the manifold are a pain to get to. While the turbo is off you should upgrade to a braided oil feed as it is easier to refit and also less likely to block.
