Went out to my 205 this morning to see that the rear window on my housemate's Golf had been smashed in. As I was taping it up ( ) I realised the front door had also been pulled on, bending the top of it out by an inch or so. They stole nothing, there was nothing to steal!

Parked 2 cars down was my Monza. At first I thought it was ok, but then I realised the lock is mullered and they've mangled the door panel too, presumably screwdrivered it. Also prized the window seal out to slide something down there. It seems they might have taken 1 CD (out of 5) or maybe I just dont know where I put it ;) Left the stereo and 6x9s in.

In between these 2 cars was my 205. Dead easy to break into being made of paper as it is, and has a stereo sitting in it which was worth £750 a few years ago. Interestingly they didnt even touch this car.

My assumption is they were looking to steal a car, and were put off by the flashing red light in my 205 (has a Toad AI606 cat 1 alarm/immobiliser in it).

What makes this slightly amusing is the Golf has a ****ed bottom end and ain't going anywhere, and the Monza refuses to start at the moment...

So, all in all a shitty ****ing morning.

Is there any point in me reporting this to the police, I feel it's just a waste of my time really?

It is worth reporting.

They wont be able to do anything as they will probably have nothing to go on. BUT .. if they ever do catch these cnuts in the act and have full CCTV footage + 300 witnesses and a mystic cow in order to get a conviction at a British justice comedy club ...... Then your report might well be able to be pinned on them, and increase the chance of them being done.

Of course though .. when you do report it .... WALK to the station, if you drive they will do doubt find something wrong with your car and do you for it

Yes, deffo call the police, even if only to waste a bit of their time. You pay taxes you have a right to have stuff like this investigated.

Amateurs, bloody amateurs, they obviously didn't listen in crim school. there's easier ways to get into cars.

Bad luck tho.

It is always best to report it. We have had this in the past with cars when we lived in Paignton, and had to park on the road. If the number of reported incidents increases then they will add more patrols in that area (so we were told), and hopefully catch (or at least deter) the scum.

yeah, report it. it's a crime and should be reported - there is too much that goes unreported these days.
