View Full Version : Another question for the mods
I'm getting really confused about the new shite rules.
How does this escape them?

Without being a pain in the ass, it feels like theres a lack of consistency going on. I know its difficult for you guys with the number of threads that keep appearing and you do do a good job. But this isn't exactly a low prominence thread and I'm just wondering exactly how it escaped the new rules.

Just read the new guidelines - "not the samaritans" stood out. Obviously we're not the samaritans, but if one of us has a problem why do you have an issue with that person seeking advice from what is a forum of intelligent worldly-wise people?
No no, you're right, it's much better to stew away in your life and not talk to anyone about it

If you have a look in the other thread I posted, it has been explained that personal stuff can be posted in the members area.
Perhaps this point could be added to the locked sticky thread about the new rules?
How many people are actually members? Is it 10, or 100, or 1000? I've often wondered about this mysterious members forum - could someone take me a screenshot of the current threads so I can see what I'm missing out on?

The whole point of the MEMBERS forums is that it is for MEMBERS
If you want to see what's going on then join the SXOC.
well yes.
but to get back to the original topic?
I'm not trying to be a thorn in anyone's side. Just to get a grip on what's expected
I think you have a valid point there Leon so I have closed it. Don't know how it passed me by to be honest.
the only thing that i can think is that it was started by a paid up member (at least, I think dunc is...)...
So is that it? Can paid up members post shite as they like and the rest of us can't? Or are the shite rules equally applicable to members and non-members?
In a way it would make more sense if this was the case...
Hey I only wanted a screenshot FFS. Do you pay for your food in Tescos without looking at it to see if it's edible first?

yes, indeed i did see that.
What i meant to say and subsequently failed totally fcking dismally was: is more leniancy given to paid up members in a drive to get more people to pay up?

No - at least, not as far as I'm concerned. This isn't a drive to get more members, it's a drive to reduce the endless torrent of inanity.
fairy nuff.
cheers for teh explanations
