Go to your control panel, then adminstration tools, then services, then look for the messenger service and stop it. :)

Make sure the start up type is set to either manual or disabled, too. :thumbs:

I'm using my mate's PC & have just disabled her messenger start-up [at her request lol]...how do I change the start-up type? (Have pity on me - I'm just a poor mainframe programmer, don't know much about this PC lark ;) :D )

When you see the services as detailed above, double-click on it and theres a drop down box you can change :)
