Well, for what it's worth, I've just downloaded S14 & S14a manuals, and according to Page 273 (S14a), the smart entry controller should indeed operate the door locks  (unless they are dual-input?).
Have you tried scoping the wires to the door locks, to see if there's a voltage applied to them (with and without the SEC connected)?
Does the remote fob still work when you unplug the SEC (indicators flash etc)?

Perhaps UK S14a's SEC's are different to the model shown in the manuals or maybe someone's been at the electrics in your car.

Sorry to be of little use (touch easier when you actually have the car to probe around with).

that's exactly the section in the manual i was looking at. thing is the wiring to the SEC is diferent to the book, but it doesn't look chopped. the wires were never there from what i can tell.

i'll put out an APB for S14a'ers to unplug their SEC.

Sorry, Grim, but I don't know much about S14/S14a's.

May I suggest selling your car, buying an S13 and then posting something you want sorted on that - I might be able to help, then? :wack:

Please keep the FFF going - it's dead good (especially the recent Planets one)   :notworthy
