View Full Version : SOS Microsnot Activesync help needed.
Hi,
I got a new iPaq h1940 yesterday and have been trring to seet up the Activesync v3.7, I can get it to sync via a cable connection but I wanted to use the Bluetooth connection, during the setup it descovers my PC without any problems, but when the iPaq tries to connect, all I get is a window with Connecting to host in it, and thats where it stays.
Please help.
The only thing I can suggest is that you download the latest version of ActiveSync, from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2eb5bd80-d52c-4560-ae11-da92f2b229fa&DisplayLang=en
and give that a go. I had a similar problem recently trying to connect an Ipaq. That was via the standard USB cradle though, and the bundled version of ActiveSync didn't support XP properly. Worth a try.
If you go into the Activesync menu on the Ipaq and select connect via Bluetooth manually it usually does the trick on the missus 2210.

I have tried this, it saya "Unable to connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present." but I can transfer files with BT and the BT serial port works fine.

Yep, downloaded the latest Activesync and set it up again, works fine with the cable still. but no BT
Help, any more ideas people?
You're sure you haven't disabled BT on the iPaq?
Sure, the BT light is flashing, which is nice!
Scorel! Flxed it, I hadn't set up Activesync as a service in "My Bluetooth Places" [\idiot], so I'm writing this from my sofa.
Thanks for all your help JB.

PML, but it's easy done.
Modern technology eh  :D
I had no idea that i had to set it up as a separate service on the desktop machine, though the virtual serial port would do the job.
God I love gadgets!

P.s. This one's from the garden!
