my gran's PC had 3 lots of D variant on it - Symantec have a removal tool that I recommend you run ASAP as netkey has its own smtp engine and is a little bugger to get rid of... been crashing explorer on this PC all afternoon

Hmmmmm...........................think I might have this
Got a couple of weird emails and now my PC is acting up. Typical, must have slipped in when my AVG was out of date due to server probs :annoyed: :annoyed:

Just look at your connection status - netsky sends out more data that you can get in...

Thanks Leon - I ran the tool and apparently I don't have it. Something is the matter tho as I got an email from a company in India berating me for sending them spam and infected emails!
I'm busily updating my firewall and antivirus as we speak.......

If you install AVG on a machine with all of these netsky/mydoom viruses, will it automatically fix them, or do you need to do all the manual fixes too?

That's part of the virus. It just means someone with your email address has the virus - it'll have found your email and be sending out "spoof" emails to other people that appear to come from you.

I get about 20 of these a day, I must know a right bunch of numpties :P

it will find and fix if you've got the latest updates.
but to be sure, i always run the symantec tool too. if you're fixing summat, you may as well fix it 100% confidently...
