I know this question belongs to ICE but I need an answer immediatly.
I would like to know the exact size (length and width and depth) of the original speakers in the front of S13.
I want to install Xplod version from Sony (oval) with the same sizes to keep the mounting structure which is around the speaker.
OR is the standard round speaker fit-able ?
I mean the standard 16cms XF-1722 From sony, cheaper than the oval versions.
If I install round speakers, I will be obliged to remove the speaker mounting structure in plastic, then I'm afraid to loose the bass drum effect of the door : the plastic surrounding allows to have a speaker hermetically sealed.
Thanks,

Thanks,
6x4 is standard size, although some have fitted 6x9.

Its pretty easy to fit 6" speakers in the doors. Remove the plastic speaker mount and make an MDF baffle, about 6mm thick, which fills the hole left in the door. Cut the hole in the baffle for the speaker and....job done, easy.

MDF will also provide a better mount for the speaker than plastic.

Could 6" speakers be used with the plastic mounts which are available on e-bay? Do the 6"speakers provide a noticeable boost in bass?
