Hi guys perhaps you can help...

Got a Geforce 4 5200 and I want my TV set up as a second monitor. TV has phono + SCART socket but no Svideo. Graphics card outputs Svideo....

I tried splitting the Svideo into phono and then putting the phono leads into TV and the image is black and white and "rolling" (flickery, to the point that you can't make out any images) I'm told that my TV isn't Svideo compatible so (i'm getting there....) does anyone know of a box/cable that can change Svideo into a phono or scart signal?

Many thanks,

Rich

Lektropacks sell pretty much every converter imaginable :) SCART can carry composite, S-Video or RGB so you would need something to downgrade to composite first I'd imagine. I thought the GeForce controls allowed you to switch between S-Video and composite output though? My old GeForce 2 Ultra could and I'm sure my mate's GeForce 4 and GeForce FX can too.

depending on how your SCAR socket is setup, you can just get an SVideo - Scart adapter for about a tenner... but if the SCART wont take the signal, youll endup wit a black and white signal... :) looks like a telly or GFX card upgrade is in order :)

I'd be VERY VERY suprised if one of the SCART sockets doesn't accept an SVID signal. You may need to change the AV input, for instance on my Panasonic, if I plumb SVID into AV2, it's black and white, change it to AV2S and it's in colour :)
