I just bought some infinity component speakers for my S13 and they aren't as loud as the standard speakers? don't get it.

Higher quality speakers, especially components running through crossovers will require slightly more power to give the same amount of volume. This is mainly down to construction (higher quality cones tend to weigh more than pressed paper ones), design of the suspension assembly and the winding used. On new speakers, you can usually get a sensitivity rating which shows how much volume they will give for a given input.

In short, its time for an amp! (you know you want one!)

Infinity are notoriously inefficient speakers. Sound nice though.

I've got some Infinitys, and I was told when I brought them that they really need an amp powering them. Quite gutsy speakers with an amp fitted, im happy with them.
