View Full Version : What games would you like to see re-made?
I've noticed that R-type is being released for the PS2. I'd like see a new Chaos Engine remake - and definately keep the 3rd person/above view...none of this first-person view malarky that seems to be taking over everything. Oh, and Elite too.
Also, what ever happened to score boards??
Take a look here http://www.remakes.org/

Both of those are CLASSICS! :notworthy
Chaos Engine was great. Top down games were great, there was an arcade game where you rode a motorbike up the screen and you collected powerup sidecars with more/bigger guns.
Overlander from the C64 was great. You took on jobs to deliver things and you were paid half in advance. You had to buy petrol and if you didnt guess enough, you could finish the level. The rest you spent on guns and go faster goodies :D

Daytona with todays technology and graphics has the potential for greatness:thumbs:
I was always keen on Elite too, classic stuff and also would love to see castlevania on the x box.
As far as older stuff goes I always loved Ikari warriors and 1942 in the arcade and mercs from the Megadrive:nod:
Elite Such a bloody brilliant game and they still haven't done it yet:mad:

I wish they had finished remaking Hired Guns, the old Amiga classic tile based shooter!
Goldeneye on the 64 was sublime...
But for old old games it has to be:
The old Lotus Esprit cop/chase game on the Speccy - the very first GTA/Driver type thing.
Oh, and Operation Wolf!

Just remembered, Another World or Flashback.
What was the other name for another world?
Edited to say Yes Si, thats the one. Remember the one missile that could go past everyone on the track then come back and get you :)

Flashback was remade in 3D as Fade to Black a few years ago and it was rather good.
Viewpoint, Xybots and Rolling Thunder (2) I would like to see remade in real 3D, or 2D with 3D effects.

Maybe that wasn't a good selling point.
It was like they were on acid when they came up with the idea.

Loads of the older games used to be crazy / innovative - too many games nowadays are relying on graphical power rather than good gameplay.
Anyone remember Wizball - you were a green bouncy ball thing that had to pick up paint. The morepaint you got you could upgrade and get a little "buddy" thing that would fire at stuff. Bit of a distant memory that one, but Im sure it was a great game.

Xenon 2 was good.
I can do a cracking impression of the shopkeeper!!?!?!?
Rastan and Shinobi were wicked.
In the corner shop I used to go to as a kid, they had Rastan there. The test button had mysteriously appeared through a hole . We could go there every lunch time and play for free.
They weren't too happy when they found it.
