I've just been round to my brother-in-laws to finish off some difficult cuts on his laminate flooring, and as I was putting the last one in, I decided in my infinite wisdom to use my middle finger of my left hand as a tapping block and have taken off all of the skin and I think my nails about to fall off as well.
It bloody hurts I tell thee.:smash:
So whats the worse hammer related injury you lot have sustained?

Hammered fingers once or twice, but nothing bad.

had flame cut some 25mm boiler plate and had to break slag with a hammer, It broke rather easily and i followed through and tore a big chunk of skin from the back of my hand. I have some scaring:smash:
When I was younger I was breaking wood with a claw hammer. I was having trouble with one bit so I swung it "over" my head and stuck the claws through my skin, DOH:smash:
im a joiner  nuff said

Just taken the plaster off now i've stopped bleeding and its all looking nice and black. Have also managed to split my finger from the nail to the tip and if careful I can really get it open quite wide:hurl:
Fascinating:wack:
Apart from the odd sore thumb never had any truly bad hammer injuries.
Did once decide to use a Stanley knife to cut a car stereo wire though. To get a proper cut I held the wire tight over my leg and then cut it with the knife. Needless to say I misjudged the required effort and sliced through my thigh. Blood everywhere, quick drive to casualty, 5 stitches and a tetanus jab, had to have the drivers seat and carpet valeted to get the blood out next day.

I've sliced through my nail and into my finger before, but it didn't bleed much cos I pressed on it.
Worst one i had was in my first car, fiesta 1.1 :p
I was getting ready to sell the car, so had to take off the racer seat covers i had put it  Using a VERY sharp multi-purpose pen knife i decided to cut them out cos i couldnt be arsed to get them all out neatly. Got the front two done nicely, then went to climb over the seats to do the back, lent on the knife which flicked back right where my thumb was. Just thought i had a little knick until i looked down and saw all the blood pouring onto the seat cover. Managed to get inside and sort it out though, left a huge gauge and still a scare there to this day, think i should have had stiches at the time, oh well..
Moral of the story, dont buy seat covers!!!! :wack:
Not too bad i guess considering some others ive heard :wack:

Been thinking about this quite a lot and have a couple of good 'uns to tell. First one when I was about 7 or 8 and my dad was into petrol RC airplanes. He had a couple and they both had to be hand cranked, i.e. get your finger on the prop and try to start it manually by pushing it round. Any way one day he wasnt quick enough pullin his hand away and the prop sliced about half his index finger off. Amazingly they stitched it on and to this day he has a stumpy finger. I say amazingly because this was about 25 years ago and it seems amazing they were stitching parts back on then in the dark ages:D
Another was me and a gas pipe. My boss at the time had removed my gauges from site to use elsewhere and assured me that a number of gas pipes I had to cut were open and depressurised. Unfortunately he had missed one and as I cut into it with pipe cutters it exploded in my face which was made worse by the fact I was in a riser cupboard in cramped conditions, smoking, with the pipe about two inches from my eye. And the pipe was sitting at about 450 psi or summat ridiculous like that. Needless to say blindness ensued for about 6 weeks and to this day it still isnt right. The worst bit was having to sit in hospital with a doctor with a pair of tweezers pulling copper shards from my eye and having no idea where he was gonna poke it next as I couldnt see him:eek:
I dont do gas these days:no:

I don't know where to begin, so I won't bother. Today I've "helped" Tenman and Wacomuk change the turbo gaskets on my car. Even though I thought I did fcuk-all except stand around, dole out spanners and freeze my tits off, I've come home thiteen hours after I left, covered in oil and with very little skin left on my hands. :annoyed:
But a big    to Tenman and Wacomuk and also to Sylviagod for letting us use his place (and his technical assistance and help) and to Mrs Sylviagod for providing more brews than we could ask for. :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

My worst one was drifting a bearing out in the workshop using my largest "precision re-alignment tool" really giving it some bell-oil. As I started to tire I gave it one last totally mis-aimed shot right on my knuckle - still clicks and crunches to this day
As for my motorcycle related accidents............plz don't ask!
lol, actually didn't do that much damage to myself yesterday... apart from the usual ends of the index finger and thumbs aching like bastards from getting the oil feed back into the block and a minor burn from welding the EGR, still when I finally get all the cack off my hands I'll prob. find a couple more minor cuts.
edit: when will Aitch learn how Silvia's spelt?;)
Aitch & Tenman

LOLOL, used to be a favourite did that, get a tan off welding, no manifold wasn't cracked, but EGR pipe had been removed and we were welding up the EGR outlet on the manifold

Aitch looked worried as fcuk when I was belting the cnut like a b*st*rd. In fact he went pale and we thought god had put his mouth on upside down. Aitch was unusually quiet.

That is a more accurate description of what really happened. :wack:
