I was thinking of replacing my front speakers. I take it 6x4 are a direct replacement, if so the following are available :
JBL-GTO6425
KFC-PSR467C
Infinity-462.3CFP
MB Quart DKD146
But what I really want is 5.25 inch components. Does anybody know where I can get an adaptor plate if one exists to allow me to easily put components in, leaving the standard grill in the door ??
Cheers.

6X9's allegedly go in the front doors without too much trouble. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
I want some 6x4's for the back side moulding things.
Scottie, do you have any power ratings & price details on the 6x4's you have listed?
Jezz, I will try and find the prices and power ratings. I believe the infinity speakers had the highest RMS rating of 60W. I will post the links when I find them.

Cheers, My head unit is 54wrms so it's gonna be close. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
The Infinity speakers were the only ones above 50w RMS so you will have to use these. I have included the links I used to find out the info, I just can't remember exactly were on the sites I went to. I remember deciding the Infinity were the best, although I really do want to try and get components in the front doors if this is possible.

Doh, I stand corrected! 27wrms. 52Peak.
FFS when I was a lad everything was rated as RMS, whats the PMO all about? It's ******.
Sony cdx 750. for what it's worth.
Shouldn't be as close as I tought then.
It's a damn fine head unit though, just that the stock speakers cannot handle above 33% volume.
Does anybody know what the RMS figures are for the new range of Alpine CD Tuners quoted as 4x60w. No websites seem to list this info.
I am tempted to get the 7873, anyone had any experience of Alpine ??

Experience of Alpine?? In my experience they are second only to Nakamichi - top quality stuff mate
"Adjust the Bass and let the Alpine blast" Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh prince - Summertime
Its gotta be good huh?
Acherlee, from the same tune:
"Riding around in your Jeep or your Benzos
Or in your Nissan sittin on Lorenzos"
WTF are Lorenzos??

Instead of using the amp in the head unit you'll get a big improvement if you use another one. The amp chip in head units are a huge comprimise so even if its only a small thing, a good quality external amp will be so much sharper and give better dynamic range.
Worth thinking about, you guys
