Just got the latest version of MSN Messenger and it just keeps logging me in and then instantly back out again.

Any ideas whats causing this?

what version of MSN Messenger is that then is it 4.7

6.0.0602 is the latest version


jez uninstall it and put a fresh version on and try again

I opened windows messenger clicked the help button
and click about windows messenger and it tells me its version 4.7

6.1 is the latest version. try a reinstall jez.
have you got the plus! add on installed?

tone - get 6.1 from HERE (http://messenger.msn.com/) and stop using that archaic 4. whatever poo. :)

aye if your on xp its windows messenger, well uninstall that as well lol. You need xp antispy (http://download.stardialer.de/?account=xp-antispy-de) and Messenger 6.1 (http://messenger.msn.com/) and a nice site for add ons Mess Be (http://www.mess.be/)

just downloded it and my computer has gone mad

edit: Beaten to it, still stop the messanger service running with 'shootthemessanger'. It doesn't stop MSN messanger working, it does make your PC more secure though.

Read the 2nd item down and get rid of Windows Messanger :smash:

well your contacts are not stored on your pc so its not msn's fault its with your pc, either take it all off with the links i gave you can do everything you need to do.

system restore maybe a good idea i had to last week for different reasons.

but ditch the 4.7 cack messenger and get the 6.1 to work it will work it just needs looking at, i'd do it but i cant from here :wack:

erm did you log in tone? your contacts should be there when you do.

if not login on the old one and save your contact list as a file and import it into the new messenger.

done a system restore and everything is back to norm,
not downloading any more

All I did was download 6.1 and it went haywire... not had a chance to have a proper look at it.. will do when I get back home. Bloody computers...
