great vid paz....want the dvd its from as i said on msn....that s15 has a line lock, but looks like it is solenoid controlled, very nice setup, with the ignition and starter and fuel tank....does anyone know how rich these drift guys are ? i see most of um have raced gt etc before....

That car in particular is given to Nobuteru Taniguchi by HKS, and so basically budget isnt an issue, as is the case with alot of the cars seen in D1. And althought Taniguchi races in JGTC now, im pretty sure he got the drive in the RE-Amemiya FD3S in the GT500 Series due to his finishes in the 2001 D1 Series (which he achieved in his own S15). I think the same was true for Manabu Orido, after winning the 1995 Option Drift Competition, he was offered a drive in JGTC and his career took off from there.

Both took part in small scale amateur/semi-professional racing before hand however, and Taniguchi started out on Motorbikes.. Orido apparently drifted everyday, as often as he possibly could! Just wish we had the facilities here, cus id do the same :D

It would be cool just to drift and have fun whenever you like. What we really need is a place like the one that appears in the drift bible (sorry the name escapes me) which is a track specifically for drift practice. :thumbs:

Yep, Ebisu Drift Land that one is. Its part of a huge complex of race and drift tracks.. The Touge Course is built to purposely resemble mountain runs! Ebisu = Heaven
