Right... Could you tell me what parts consist in the suspension type area of a decently prepped drift mobile?
I thought I was learning it all ok, then realised i really dont have a clue :(
Parts that would need changing in the suspension area for a car like in the Japanese D1:
ARBs
Coilovers
.....
.....
Could you fill in the blanks for me? Possibly explain how they fit together?
Tall order maybe, but i'd like to learn it somehow  :)

just another question about this topic:
Having changing the springs or suspension will end up
harder to feel when the traction looses right so what
would be the ideal for drifting?
cheers

I know this isnt about drifitng, but with my coilovers i've lowered the car as far as it goes, i can feel exactly what the car's doing and even when its going to break away. I dont know if this is what's needed for drifting.

Right :) I don't think D1 cars run ARB's as they use like 12kg springs, so
Coilovers
Pillowball topmounts
All bush's are replaced with aluminium inserts or spherical bearing bush's
Adjustable rear upper arms
Uprated rear lower arms
Adjustable rear toe arms
Adjustable front tension rods
Hard Tie rods

What are Hard tie rods, is it a brand or uprated standard ones?

they are different to normal tie rods in that they increase the amount of steering lock available by adding a spacer so the rack can move more :) I think that they are called hard tie rods because they are stronger.. the reason they need to be stronger is because the tie rods and TR ends apparently fail quite often when hitting a bump on full lock..

Alot of D1 cars do use ARB's too.. I know Largus sponsors about 12 D1 driver/car combo's from AE86's to Cefiro's etc.. But yeah, with stiff suspension alot of people dont feel the need for ARB's... I'd guess its all down to preferance :)

Well then where can I get these kind of springs then! :D
After my last thread I had gone over to thinking I need ARBs not springs
