View Full Version : GT3, possibly a very stupid question.

Does GT3 reflect real life in anyway as regards to suspension settings?
Been playing about a lot (in fact all I do on the game) with my drift cars and I'm sort of wondering if a real car set up the same as a car in GT3 would react and handle the same.
/Steve prepares to be ridiculed.:D
My opinion is that GT3 is stunningly realistic and would guess that setup would be pretty close to real life. Do you use the 'simulation tyres' Steve? They loose traction with decent realism IMO.
Dunc.
I started using the analog stick for the first time yesterday. its soooo much quicker to respond than using the d pad. I dont beleive Ive been playing the game for so long like this. I can drift me 300bhp s13 on it like some kind of lunatic now  I think cars respond how you would expect them to as standard but I havent driven a calsonic skyline etc so wouldnt know -but the crx on gt2 drove just like a normal one and paxo /mercedes /mini etc - especially with simulation tyres on - makes it much better - try a 1050bhp supra in the wet with standard suspension and sim tyres midly amusing :D
what suspension settings do you use for s13s? cos mine is unchanged atm I only bought it the other day I normally mess around with the aforementioned skyline...

Haven't played it for ages but won't play it with the d-pad. The 2 sticks are sweet to use simply cos of the throttle control you have!
Ive got decent brake and throttle control on the buttons -they are analog in a way.... I might convert to using both but I cant find a decent way to hold the pad then

I've got a drift 180sx in it, it's got loads of camber and stuff (i just fiddled with everything, didnt know what i was doing :D ).
It's great for sliding, only problem is that on the straights (i only ever play complex string), the bastard thing wont go in a straight line :)
Sliding all the way down the straight gets a bit tireing :D
I've lost my copy of GT3 :(
lol i only found mine last week. surprisingly it was in my ps2 :furious: only took me 3 months to realise this and check (use a housemates ps2 normally doh)
I've never managed to get the hang of setting cars up on GT3, if I could master it I really would be quite good at the game....
Michael_Mcauley is inspirational when it comes to drifting on GT3, that may be partly because he uses the analogue stick for throttle, way more precise control, that and the fact that he plays the game non-stop!
Michael can usually keep up with me while he is drifting and that is saying something!
I think GT3 really does reflect real-life with regard to all adjustable settings, bar the take-off trick ;)
I find the Racing Supras and the R390 very balanced for drifting, softer tyres give a more predictable and progressive slide.
The difficulty in setting-up is matching the spring rates with the damping levels and ride height.
I'm not much good at drifting, I tend to correct the slide automatically, then realise I could have got a nice drift going, this has hapened a fair bit recently with the rainy weather :(
100% in GT3 and GT-Concept :D
