I seem to recall that Phatty, Paz and some others have their own "team", but don't think anyone else has one set up in UK.
Does anyone?
Might be interesting to get a bit of friendly rivalry going on at drift days? Maybe develope it so its a bit like the J scene with team drifting? Although I don't know how it works, it looks fkin cool :D
The Scots have one :wack:
I was thinking about this the other day, it would be cool to have local teams just for a bit of friendly rivalry. Not like 'team uk' or anything but just you and a group of mates with a name, similar to what i believe the Japanese do.

Myself Paz and Ade run as Team Night-Spirit, but were looking at sorting a new team soon :)
There's another team called Team Raging Demon, (yes the stupid names are necessary ;) :D ) but I've never seen any1 attend a drift day, at least I don't think I have
There's Option drift club, they team drift and are quite good at it..
This coming year we'd really like to see double and triple team drifting where we get within inch's of each whilst mid drift  it can be very expensive when it goes wrong though ;)

I'm trying to convince a mate to buy the FC RX7 he keeps dribbling over as a drift car so I can start my own small team. Team "We're new and are quite scared " will be about sometime soon!!!! Beware!!!!!!! Or something :( :D
Me in my car, codenamed "Project SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT", Med in his car, codenamed "Project AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH"... Anyone else want to join? :D
I saw the site and very nice it was, I would be interested in touge battles

Thought you was going down the 180 route mate? What happen :)
BanjoMaster
29-11-2003, 14:04
180 cost many, many thousands of pounds in insurance from the few insurance companies who'd touch me with an explosive, poison-tipped cattleprod :( FC more realistic as a first car, I love them almost as much as 180's, and few people drift FCs here at the moment :)
In short the 180SX will happen, just not for a couple of years yet :)
How are your plans progressing anyway?

Not going to happen until i get an uber job :( What's more likely is I get a 500 quid S13 and do that up to drift... Just need a job first :(
Do you want to be in my group drift thingy if we ever get off the ground? :D

I would be interessted if it didn't cost £££££!
Maybe I'll join you as a part timer, "Project HEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLP!!!"
If all goes to plan I should be taking my car drifting at least once next year:nod:

North Weald has drift days, not exactly local to you though.

How about in the South West then?
Can't think of anywhere myself :(
Practice sessions are a pain, there don't seem to be enough of them and they all seem to be miles away. Even so i'm considering the 100+ mile journey to the next North Weald one, if i can get a day off of course.

I've been thinking about this too. I'd like to get a small teamette together too. I'm trying to find area's to practise. (ie airfields!!)
im up for that tanj  ... although im a bit of a distance from ya :)
I mailed the council about using ford aerodrome about 3 months ago and they have still not responded:rant:
it is no wonder that people just go out to tesco and give it hell in the car park if that is how they treat a serious enquiry.
I am still trying to find somewhere in the south east but I won't hold my breath..

There's a small track down near Canterbury that's used for Rallycross... I think it's called Lyden Hill... That might be quite a good course for drifting, as it's fairly small. Might have to have a look into it :)
I'm well up for the tanj if you find one :)

it is very small, you ever been there mate? i in canterbury at the mo, i work there....
apparantly the karting track, when its quiet they allow cars on the track, but thats even smaller!!
My company recently done a new taxiway at manston airport.............. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmm...... it was lovely:smitten: sooooooo much concrete:smitten: there are loads of redundant taxiways at manston, but its still a ive airport, so i dont think theyd be too keen......

I went a few years back to watch rallycross there.. Didn't get a chance to drive the track so couldn't really tell how big it was :)
I live up in Chestfield, you anywhere nearby? :)
Broad oak road at the mo, at work, but i actually live in ashford :)
Wheres chestfield? i know vaguely..
well have to find a drifting venue around these parts, theres gotta be somewhere!!
SteveDunn

Chestfields about 5 miles north of Canterburrurury, near Whitstable :)
Brands Hatch isn't too far away... But i reckon that would be megabux :(
yea i think it would mate, its one thing doing a track day, but organising a drift day would be ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££
what we could do is book up for a track day, get some 'road closed' signs, put them up & see how many corners we coupld drift around before the marshalls put stingers out to stop us:wack:
Are you going to SCA on sunday? if so where & what time??
Jason

Yeah Im going to SCA :)
I'm meeting the Essex lads up by Colchester at some ridiculous hour, probably means I have to leave sunny (hehe) Kent at about 5:30 :indiff: :(
Are you going to convoy? :)
5.30! on a sunday!
much as id like to convoy, im going up in the 106 diesel :o
would stand out like a sore thumb!! (and wouldnt be able to keep up)
i was planning on leaving at about 7.30, and be there for just before 10, if i can drag myself out of bed earlier i will :)
