Im a big fan of Peter Kay, though I say that, I have really only watched the Phoenix Nights shows. Me and a few mates decided we wanted to go see his stand up show, so went down 'the big smoke' had a few beers, a curry stayed overnight etc. I was really looking forward to it.
I was very dissappointed, it was the 'Mum needs a new bungalow' one, I know its quite old now anyway, but the material was so dated, if I'd seen it 5 years ago I'd probably have laughed my ass off I imagine but I must have heard all the gags a dozen times, it was all just observational humour.
If anyone is thinking of going to see him and they have only seen Phoenix nights I'd think again, unless youve got cheap tickets and its a local show. IMO it was nowhere near on a par with his TV stuff. Its just a stand-up show at the end of the day, nothing really original and not very imaginative, I rate Dave Gorman and Harry Hill more as stand ups now, although the latest HH show I saw was a bit stale, the second half was padded out with songs, groan, bit like watching spitting image when it was near the end of its life.
Sorry to go against the flow ! I guess I was just a bit ignorant about what to expect.

Its very much individual tastes. Peter Kay live was the best i ever saw and I would therefore recommend him to anyone and I don't even see how Harry Hill can get on tv personally but some people find him funny, although none I know!!!!All down to what you like (although southerners don't have sense of humour and like eddie izzard and Harry Hill!!!!!!  sly dig!!)

kwik save have panda pops and vogue cola!!!!!!
as said, i thought it was funny, but it only really started getting dead funny towards the end, pheonix nights is a much better example of his comedy genious.
still enjoyed it though, good ol' northern humour, you southerners just dont understand.
best ive seen live - roy chubby brown, not just because of his language, but because he's funny as fcuk!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
I thought Chubby was a let down live. 17quid for 40 mins and they were his old jokes. His dancing was good though!!!
