Is it me or are the companies deliberately slowing up their 56k connections to force people to buy broad band? My connection with Virgin.net has deteriorated over the last few months to such a degree that I do not even bother to log on at peak evening times as it takes forever to download web pages.
I have been on a couple of other sites where peeps have complained at the performance of ISPs and also a couple of friends have been forced to change due to worsening connection speeds. I only got BB capability in my village at the beginning of this month so have yet to organise a supplier but due to the current problem broad band looks to be the only alternative! When I first got my PC and used the net, my 56k modem was perfectly adequate for browsing the internet but now the connections are so poor it just gets frustrating.

No it's prolly because they're not spending as much on the narrowband infrastructure as BB is the new way to connect :(

Everyone I know is experiencing the same problem - I agree with your reasoning - suspicious bugger, me!

also more and more folks are learning how to post pics, create avatars etc.

Loads of sites have flashing this and moving that. It all adds up.
