View Full Version : Uncool or what...
This may be defeating the purpose but-
I read the standard S14 exhaust is pretty poor and would like to fit one that frees up the power but I don't really want one with a pipe that you could fit your head in or that sounds like all hell is breaking loose. Sorta like to maintain that Q-car feel (or maybe I'm just getting old).
Any suggestions?
The exhaust note is an antidote for old age, so maybe you could kill 2 birds with one stone?!
OR... Get a fruity exhaust put on, then bang one of those dodgy exhaust trim things from motorworld on the end of it, Now you get to keep the Q-car, although the noise might give it away.. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/tongue.gif
I think you might be snookered though, The HKS Hiper Muffler is sposed to be on the Quieter side, but it looks like it could house a family of rhino's in it.
Dont really know of any small, quiet pipes, intriguing...

How about the HKS 120mm ?? Its smaller than the Super Dragger, has a standard looking silencer box, but is mandrel bent and offers the same power gains as a Dragger. Its also JASMA certified, meaning it shouldn't be any noiser than the standard system.

Possibilities may be the Trust MX (think they're supposed to be fairly quiet) although they do have a largish 115mm tip.
There is a new one called the Apex Hayabusa which LOOKS fairly unobtrusive. Although I'm fairly sure with a name like "Hayabusa" it will not be the quietest around! I think they do a removable insert which fits in the tailpipe to keep the noise levels down though.

Or failing that get someone like Powerflow to make one up for you. I'd guess they should be able to do one with a centre box (resonator) to keep the noise down and just choose a sensble tailpipe. Job done! (Maybe)
