My place pay me £3k less than they should, make me pick up after all their shite and dont believe in giving payrises when you're supposedly promoted

wheres that old appropriate smiley when you need it

£3k isn't exactly pocket money. No payrise after promotion! Makes my company sound like angels!

I'm happy with mine! Finished my 4 year apprenticeship in May as an Electrical Engineer in Coca-Cola and gained an HNC along the way.

Going on to do my HND and then Degree in the next few years, plus it gives me enough money to keep fannying about with motors:D

A career would be nice. It's getting quite tiresome getting out of bed every morning with no sense of challenge or interest.

Dont know how you can say that Ant, you challenge us every day with your dubious links and suchlike. Must be quite challenging to keep on finding so many as you do:wack:

I'd like to earn enough money to get a tax bill:( ATM I don't have enough work to do that pays, but as I work for myself I've only got myself to blame

Also it's cost me 14yrs and 12k to train - I'm not about to throw that away:)

Just quit my job last week. Not sure what to do now, but after spending 5 years commuting to London realised that there's more to life than sitting on a train for 3 hours a day.

Anyone out there want to set up a new business? I have a few ideas and plan on trying a few things. Anyone out there feel the same? Have been running my own web dev company for 3 years and need a change....

I'm fed up with IT its oversubscribed, and I don't find what I do challenging any more :(

Pay is not too bad, even though I've not had a payrise for 4 years:(

Time to get the fook out and try something new, just can't afford to as I'm now mortgaged up to the eyeballs and knee deep in debt :( Can't afford a drop in salary to retrain in something else DOH!!!!:(

After years of shite jobs i found a cool one, work in the animal rendering game.We squished the foot and mouth stock, overtime when you want it,different shifts so i either get mornings off or afternoons.Saturdays are double time and i get average earnings for my holiday pay (22 days a year plus bank holidays) I earnt?? 22,500 last year,so break that down over 52 weeks and thats what i get for holiday money per week.:D :D

I've been in IT for about 10 years.... Taking inflation into account, i'm on a lower wage now that i was when i started. Had to drop 6k just to stay employed at my last job change

so yes... i want a new career

This is one of those times where I would like a new job. Dont get me wrong, as a whole the almost 7 years I have spent in the AF has been good. The bad times come and I think about changing. Usually this goes away, I dont see this passing for another year and a half though.

That's what being a contractor is all about. You change job every 3 months or so...

Do you work at my place? The similarity is uncanny mate, especially the promotion thing (must stop, full rant mode engaged:mad: )

Have started looking for new work, so it's only a matter of time..

Yep. Need a complete change of career/direction. Been out of the office this morning looking into it actually. Hoping to get into PR for a Publishing House. Looking ever so likely that it's gonna mean doing another degree tho' which financially isn't very appealing but....

I voted for a change too.

I've also been in IT for 21 years and it can get a laborious and boring.

The only thing is I get sick of proving myself in each job and each departmental shuffle.
The climate nowadays is not too hot for IT jobs and my company pays quite well so I'll have to sit tight until I can pay off all my dues.

Have you seen me in a bikini? Trust me, it'd be the death of any promotion if it relied in part on my semi-naked body. I was thinking less along the lines of handing out fliers (Smurfy :whip: ) and more along the lines of organising book launches etc. I was meant to organise and attend parties and if I can get paid to do it  ;)

Every time I think of my job or employers or they are mentioned, I get this sort of twinge of rage that goes through my body. I'm just wondering how long its going to be before I get a fookin large gun and wipe the motherfvckers out.

Hmm in reality of course, I'll just bend over and take it since its fookin impossible to get another IT job STILL!
