Front pipe plus cat replacement

I know there was talk about custom exhausts a while back, but has anyone had a large bore front pipe and cat replacement pipe fitted?

I've just been down to Powerflow and asked about a 3" front pipe and cat replacer, but they said that they couldn't bend 3" pipe and couldn't get flanges to fit my Blitz cat back anyway. The only option would be to use 2.5" pipe (which is fine I suppose), but they would still have problems with the flanges and would probably have to make a 1 piece pipe rather than the 2 piece I wanted (so I can bolt the cat back in for the MOT). They also reckoned it would be about £250.

Anyone got any other suggestions? I could buy a Greddy front pipe for that much!

Ben, I think I told ya that Blitz want £125+vat for the front pipe and HKS make the cat bypass pipe I think. Might wanna check that out though.

Guess I'm just surprised at any imported Jap aftermarket product that doesn't seem insanely expensive. Takakaira want 15,300 yen for them which is substantially less of course..

Hi,
Powerflow use your existing flanges don't they ? I got a price from tube torque while I was there. They want £126 for an stainless (grade 304) downpipe, and £96 for a cat bypass jobbie.
Sounds like they've priced their stuff close to HKS to me.

Is that MX downpipe stainless steel? If so it looks pretty reasonable, otherwise the blitz front pipe for 125 + vat is probably the one to go for. Think I'll call Matt later and see if he can order one for me.....

Spoke to Racelogic today for Bens front pipe - they do a front pipe for an S14, but not the UK model! Something to do with the dummy cat or something.
Anyway, went to HKS on the way home to pick up a coupe of bits - had a chat with them. They knew about the dummy cat problem and said they do one for the UK cars - 3" diameter, aluminised steel etc. Normally £135 + vat.
