I get the distinct feeling that most people on this board own S13's........

Oi you lot - both S13 and S14 are quality!
It's just that they have different qualities - S13: Sleek and sporty, fast, different, excellent write ups in Autocar, excellent handling, now very cheap......the list goes on!
S14: successor to an excellent car - it can't upstage the original - beaten by a VW in Autocar roadtest!

No offence - I'm only jealous (the S13 catches more eyes, including the ones you dont want to!) The S14 is more of a Q car.

I definately think the two have a different image. I agree the S14 does have a sort of "Q Car" quality. I like that http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Having said that my 1st choice was an SR20 engined 180SX..

They're both good!

Hi

Just thought I'd pop my head in and show solidarity with the S14 boys. I'm generally and EVO forum man but stick my nose in here every so often to see whats going on.

Cool new forum Dave BTW.

I think the simplest reason that the S13 is more "popular" on this board is simply because of the price difference. I bet a lot more people would rather spend £2500 to £6000 on an S13 and have some money for mods, improvements, servicing, etc than spend maybe upto £20000 on a newer S14, IMO.

On another note, has anyone noticed how cheap the older S14's are now? I've seen a couple in Autotrader for as little as £3500!

S14 bought 2 months ago for £5200 on an M.
Had a couple of problems but looks flawless in dark blue/green. Steaming bargain. 200SX or 3year old Fiesta. Hmmm.

Bloody good buy that ! What's the mileage on it ?
Exactly, there are people out there buying the crappest cars and parting with silly sums of money when they could be driving something in a different league. I don't mind, leaves the decent cars for the more discerning buyer http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Well I'm not sure where i would fit in. I have a 180sx but a sr20 one (from Japan) so I can lurk in both the s13 for general stuff and the s14 for engine stuff.
Keep up the good work

My £5200 S14 had 71k miles and full sports specialist (non-dealer) service history.

I think it was a finance repo from previous owner which is why I got it cheap and why it had had a crappy bodge repair done to exhaust manifold that has already cost me £400 to put right. Grrr etc.
