View Full Version : Speeding evidence - they've sent me the WRONG PHOTO!!! What would you do....
Got a NIP for 54 in a 40 recently and wrote off and asked for evidence (this was a mobile van job).
They have sent a letter stating that 'a b/w photograph of the as evidence of the offense is attached' - with a photo duly attached.
Thing is, it's not me!
Ha!
As they have stated that this IS the evidence of the alleged offense then logic says I should go to court and defend myself.
Opinions would be appreciated but if anyone actually KNOWS what the score is I would appreciate a PM ( )
Thanks,
Rip.
contest it....
don't tell them its not you...
go to court and **** them in the ass for it, watch their faces when you confirm its not you, if thats their evidence and its not you then they have no evidence, if you tell them thats not you now they will search for one that might be you....
ooo, can i come to the hearing?:)

Sunderland to Bristol - now that WOULD be an achievement! :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy ;) :D
I'm just trying to establish if this is over simple - after all, I am a potential crime wave because I own a car....
Get professional advice. There's no point stuffing up any advantage you may have by taking the wrong advice from a bunch of barrack room lawyers.
I agree with JB. They've probably handed you what you need to embarrass them and get off clean :) But take advice just to make sure.

Yeah, think I'd get some proper advice.
BUT, I reckon that you'd be silly to tell them it's not you (I take it you mean not even your car mate?) before a hearing. Walk in, stand up and say It wasn't me, in your best Shaggy voice:)
Then resist tempation to shout
HAHA, UP YOURS COPPERS
before walking out calmly:D

I've still got a Summons for no MOT and insurance, from 3 days after I passed my test, when they pulled me over. Thing is, I did go down the station within er, 24hrs and hand over all my docs as required and it went to court, with me not bothering (I would not of course:)) and it was "mentioned" that the details had all been recorded in the book they use.
Thrown out and questions were asked as to why the police had wasted the courts time. DOH! What a shame.
Anyway, enough of a Hijack......

There is probably some zitty Saxo driver in Sunderland sayin exactly the same thing at the moment " look lads I've got away with it, I can't even afford an SX let alone drive one".
It's probably down to some hung-over fcukwit putting the wrong piccie in the wrong envelope. Check with a brief!!
Mike
Golly
This is great:thumbs:
Its almost worth the long drive just to see the look on their faces:D:D:D
Get some 'proper' advice and stick it to them BIG TIME :D:D:D
They've also quoted the wrong road in the original NIP - but that's going to be kept up my sleeve.
I'm getting boundary information and confirmation of speed limits from the council.
This is just one big scam - time they got the heave-ho. B*stards.

Ask on pistonheads.com. There's a couple of experienced policemen who might be able to give advice...
I'd tell them before it got to court
I wouldn't want to risk it, sometimes
things don't work out how you think
they will and you don't want to risk
getting stitched up

National SXOC meet? Get 100 of us so we can all simultaneously stand up in court, point at the donkeys and start laughing.

I'd like to go along actually, if it's in Bristol that wouldn't be too far away from me - anyone else up for it? Do they allow beer and popcorn in a courtroom? :D
