When to use super unleaded

The ND website says that you can boost up to 15psi while still using normal unleaded.

Can you take the next step +intercooler +17psi without switching? Or does it no longer have teh right octane level?

For the sake of a few pence per litre I would always use super or optimax if your running over 14psi regardless of mods.

I am running 17psi (280 flywheel BHP)... and can tell no difference between super unleaded and high octane stuff.

its meant to reduce detonation ..... but I am not getting any at the moment .... my timing has been well altered .... the car is happy.

having said that though ... if I am planning on ragging the car .. I do stick in high octane stuff .... just in case !
