At last I understand... this from the nissans13 .au mailing list:
A drive out the factory car (S14) has a wastegate actuator that is a 7psi acutator. The ECU opens the solenoid to bleed it up to 10psi.
Therefore, stock boost is 7-10psi.
Just thought I'd share that with you.
