View Full Version : Any Gas Men here?
My pilot light won't stay lit now so had no heating ewhen woke up this morning. The poor baby was freezing this morning. It lights but goes out after about 5 mins, even when it is roaring with heating on it just clicks off!!
Any advice would be great before a gas man comes and costs me a few bob!!!

Do you break everything you touch lol
it sounds like a themocouple , common fault and only a few quid to buy and i think even a man of your techy level could fit it lmao
either that or go sleep in the *****
Lisa said the same. She thinks I have a curse which breaks things or makes people run into my car!!!!! I've had a strange year.......... Nearly got sacked last week. The board of partners voted to see whether I was sacked cos I don't get on with big boss.
Is is a sealed system ??
This happened to me one morning ... turned out during the previous pissed night I had fallen against a radiator and split a pipe ...... basically there was no water pressure as all the water was on the carpet and not in the pipes ...... so nicely the boiler kept turning its self off when ever I lit it.

isn't that part of a plasma relay? I'm sure LaForge had to replace a few during the last series...
;)
I don't know guys whether its sealed or not . I will find out as I can't be arsed with Lisa's moaning about the cold. Why aree women always cold?????
Dunc is a gas expert :D
could also be the water pump has gone ?? .. if its not circulating the water the boiler would also trip.
Make sure the pilot light has a full flame on the thermocouple, if it hasn't it will be a blockage in the jet. Happens to me every year, just take the jet out and give it a clean, probably just a bit of fluff got in the air holes.
